Keira Knightley on the Jonathan Ross show tonight at 9, telling him she's a big west ham fan and goes to games with Ray Winstone.

I wouldn't worry about it?
The fact is Potts has come in and done a reasonably good job but still needs a little time - his performances were impressive but he was still prone to a couple of basic errors but that will come- I think within a year or two he will cement his place.

Hall will come in and be a top player for us Im sure. He is being introduced slowly from the bench.

As for the others, if they are good enough they will come in. Do you think he would have preferred to have paid £600,000 - £1M for Morrison, or had him for free from the academy? He has only just turned 19 so it shows that if you have the technique you will be of interest to him.

A really great article was out in the independent (I think from saturday?- I put the link on one of the earlier blogs) and it had an interview with Tony Carr about how the latest crop are coming along. He was very positive with the latest lot and was comparing them favourably with the previous vintages. He spoke very enthusiastically about Allardyce and what importance the manager places on the academy's role. He thinks its integral to future success and integrates the youngsters in with the 1st team squad on many occasions. The academy players even play a game against the first teamers each friday for the benefit of showing them how far they need to come and what level will need to be reached (Freddie piquionne aside :)

Ps. My favourite player - as it was more my time, was Julian Dicks - what a player. Skill passion and west ham through and through. And what penalties he used to take! Some of my best days watching him

Well done Iain for nailing down the interview. I've noticed that Sullivan is a lot quieter this year - perhaps this has something to do with Allardyce insisting he button it ;)?

The question actually is- What is your most memorable game? and what is your favourite west ham player?

My favourite was actually when we beat Everton in the Quarter Final of the FA cup years ago, when Stuart Slater had a wonder game - skinned Keown and planted a shot perfectly into the corner - what a game he had. I remember I was in amongst the Everton fans at Upton Park as I didn't manage to get a ticket that day (even though I was didn't miss a home game for over 5 years. After we scored to go 2 up I remember I went mad in the Everton end - and nearly got beaten up - but I didn't care. The Everton fans couldn't think of anything to slate our fans with so just slagged off our toilets for 90 minutes - hilarious!

I'm glad he's our manager, I think in general he is doing a very good job but for me, Allardyce's selection was appalling. Very defensive with Cole up front on his own, Maynard, Baldock and Taylor on the bench with Tomkins in centre midfield- bizarre.
What was also very disappointing was to see him defend Nolan quite so vehemently considering that the captain acted like a complete prat.

At least this sending off allows us to play better players in midfield. It was like we had the hand-break off without Nolan there today - Noble clearly plays far better without him there.

Man of the Match - Noble (superb) 9
Both Cole and Faubert would have got it on most other days.

The worst was obviously the lamentable Nolan for a ridiculous, and indefensible challenge, and McCartney who, time after time found himself in the wrong positions. Milwall could have equalized in the last seconds due to his lax marking.

I think he is right wing as ive seen him play there a few times- its exciting that he can play there and have the ability to get goals. Hopefully he fits straight in

Well I agree mate - There's no way that watching hours and hours of reality tv is going to improve you as a player.

ha ha. It is though isn't it? Imagine having the opportunity that they have? I'm sure most of them are trying to get their maximum but you do wonder with a few of them. I know I would be getting fitter, stronger and more importantly working on every technical element of my game - and that means every waking hour - i would want to be the best I could be- and I would bloody love it too!

no worries. It's a great read isn't it? It sums up what we're all about as a club I think. Interesting to hear how closely allardyce works with the youngsters - good to hear.

enjoy the game mate
