HEY DERHUNTER,

It's terrible, isn't it? I get so frustrated when people say 'oh, Islam is just like other faiths'!!!!!!!

How can a religion claim to be anything but barbaric when its official penalty to anyone leaving is death???!!!

I would never visit any Muslim country - LOL LOL I wouldn't be allowed in anyway, as I have the Israeli stamp on my passport! LOL LOL LOL

Thanks for posting :)

BOGGER:

Thank you so much for your comments :)

Denmark is a brave nation and ALWAYS has been - in WW2 it was one of the few countries that stood up for the Jews and helped them flee.

And you are totally right, Muslims who follow the faith literally revere Mohammed, and he was a psychotic rapist and killer!

Many thanks for visiting this blog - do come again! :)

THANKS FILTHY KAFIR :)

Alas, the British government clearly does care - they're terrified of losing all those Muslim votes...

Thanks for your comment :)

BOHEMOND:

It is blatantly obvious that a set of scriptures that is sacred to the Roman Catholic Church, is not Jewish.

That is just common sense.

And frankly, you're missing the main point. It actually doesn't matter one bit *which* word the Septuagint uses - all that matters is what the original Hebrew says.

And the Tanakh says 'almah'.
In other words: young woman

Hebrew has an entirely different word for 'virgin' and Isaiah knew it. 'Betulah'. When the authors of the Tanakh wanted to convey that a woman was a virgin, they used 'betulah'.

And, just to remind you, the term 'old testament' has nothing to do with Judaism. The OT is a Christian text. Yes, some versions of it are very reliable indeed. But others are not. No Jews read the OT. We go by the Tanakh.

We can debate this topic all day long, but the central point remains: the Tanakh is what counts for Jews, not the Septuagint.

The notion of a 'virgin birth' has never been part of Judaism. You can try and back engineer it into the Hebrew scriptures all you like, but the fact remains. It isn't there. It never was.

MAIDROS,

Lovely to hear from you :)

Thank you for such a thoughtful post. I think you've summed up the problem extremely well!

I guess those of us that have spent time in Israel, and know the reality, have to just keep stating the facts, over and over. Hopefully it will get through to some people.

Please feel very welcome to visit again :)

Shalom :)

MIRIAM -

I agree that to do so goes against all we stand for and believe in.

But if we don't start properly countering the Palestinian and Arab lies, then ultimately it's *us* that suffer. Firstly because in every country, people are so anti Israel that their elected representatives are under pressure to reflect it, and secondly because diaspora Jews are the targets of anti semites who are using anti Israel sentiment to justify their attacks.

Israel is becoming increasingly isolated on the international stage.

People need to KNOW that Israelis suffer ongoing terrorism.

But I DO understand your point - thanks for posting, do visit again :)

HELLOSNACKBAR :)

Yep, he's certainly being very outspoken about the series of Islamic extremists that Britain keeps letting in - probably because said extremists hate Gay people as much as they do Jews.

All I remember about Peter Tatchell is that - have I got this right? - didn't he used to very publicly 'out' Gay people, often against their wishes...?

I seem to recall a lot of controversy about that.

Good to hear from you :)

p.s.

DOUGLAS MURRAY is another very eloquent critic of what is going on in this country. If you've never seen him speak, then I really recommend you to click on the link to his site in my blogroll and watch some of the clips of him debating!

HI RAMMER:

Well said :)

Sadly I think Britain is fast becoming a lost cause. We now have policewomen dressing up as Muslim females, in full burhkas etc, some restaurants are only now selling halal meat, and so on.

Muslims should have *equal* rights - not special rights.

Many thanks for commenting and making such good points :)
