There is no need to get the approval of the band, their publishing company, or record label. All that is needed is that the venue/arena where the music is being used has a general public performance license with ASCAP/BMI/SESAC. That's all. I saw this at Comic-Con, and it is a lot of fun. The action, non-CGI & humor were great. Very refreshing. My only problem with the film was the "de-mystifying" a bit of the aliens and attempting to make it purely scientific, rather than just having a being which is just evil (such as the Balrog in Lord of the Rings). Too many films/books/shows do that these days...thanks modernist, materialist thought! Oh well. Like I said though, fun movie, short & enjoyable!

As for not washing jeans, the reason is due to raw denim. One buys them for the traditional dark blue indigo color. There are no fades or special washes like you'll find with most jeans sold these days. The more you wash the jeans, the quicker they fade and lose their color, and the harder it is to get a natural fade that you have created just by wearing them. To avoid the stink, which can definitely occur....some guys use fabreze. But the best solution is to put them in a freezer overnight...that kills the bacteria which is causing the smell. Great great record. Probably my album of the year. Thanks for the thoughtful & interesting review. Gets better with every listen, especially with a pair of great headphones - it's a very intricate album. And he may not be huge with most BH readers, but the man is a real rebel amongst the typical liberal snooty hipster listeners in the music industry, folks! I mean, he has the audacity to sing about Jesus and our need for God for crying out loud! "Do your favor and get real, Get right with the Lord" Love it.

What HMMurdock said. Sorry Zo, love you but I don't understand your reasoning here. When NBC debuted this slogan earlier this year (it's been used for at least 6 months now), people got upset at NBC because they weren't "diverse enough." And now apparently people are complaining because there are shows with blacks and Indians on their line-up. Which is it? Either way it doesn't matter, as HMMurdock pointed out, the slogan is a call back to an earlier slogan and NBC's colorful characters, stories, etc. Not everything is about race.

Exactly!!! I saw the film at a screening at Comic-Con and loved it. In fact, I can't wait to see it again. Evil exists and must be defeated. Scott steps up when called to fight and is a great guy. And one of the evil ex-boyfriends has evil vegan powers who ends up getting busted by the Vegan Police! It's a fun movie, and I suspect people will enjoy it more than they think.

No need to bring Bono into this, honestly. Sting...I have no idea. But Bono loves America - please read some interviews when he discusses our great nation. I've never heard or read him mentioning the rainforests either. He's one of the few superstars out there who actually invests ample time & money into causes he believes in. He works with conservative politicians and praised George W. Bush a number of times. Not to mention he's a very outspoken Christian who is still married to his childhood sweetheart. As a conservative (and a Christian)...Bono is hardly who we should be focusing on.
