Only "kinda" bummed? If I had a better cognizance of popular music at the time, I'd've been devastated and inconsolable!

At first I thought you were wearing a blue robe (as in, "I'm so distraught that I can't possibly dress myself right now"), but now I notice it's a blue button-down, a la Billy.

It's subtle touches like that that underscore the humor so well. Much love and my condolences, Joel, I know Billy meant a lot to you.

I hear ya. I'm in the same boat--only replace Verizon with Sprint.

Meh... I managed to survive the RAZR craze all those years back. We'll see how well I do against the iPhone. Going well so far, I think.

I'm pretty skeptical myself, but I'm holding out hope that the Kuzuis will handle this beloved story with the care and respect it deserves. I personally can only accept the original BTVS movie because it didn't have the show as it's precedent and it serves as a sort of background story for the show that followed.

I can understand and respect their decision to not include the original characters because it probably would cause more hair-pulling and teeth gnashing from die-hard fans than the radical notion of the movie remake already has. I just hope that they keep with the well-established vampire mythos and try not to dumb it down to appeal to the Twilight-loving ninnies out there. Here's to hoping that they do it justice.

Oh, and it may just be that I only just earlier saw "Daria: Is It College Yet?" for the first time a few hours ago, but Joel, the girl with the killer brown roots in your comic totally smacks of Miss Morgendorfer herself. Kudos on another awesome strip.

I think they're keeping him in a cryogenic stasis, only to be let out if they decide to do a BTVS and/or 90210 reboot (I know they already did that, but I'm talking about one with the original characters).

Hey Aarons, I'm Aaron as well. ;)

So, I agree with Aaron #1's comment about the movie industry running out of topics at a way too quick pace to consider Buffy for a remake. However (and I guess in disagreement with Aaron #2's comment about the unlikely success of the film), I think that if the first Buffy movie (with Kristy Swanson as the eponymous heroine) is more or less the prequel to the events that unfolded in the WB/UPN drama we've all come to love and worship, a movie that is being made outside of that existing universe would be interesting to watch, which may draw out the die-hard fans (myself included) to see it for curiousity's sake.

I mean, if nothing else, hopefully it will show those whiny Twilight fans what a REAL vampire story should look like.

Really Josh? Simon Pegg over Nick Frost? Hmm... personally I'd take both on at once, but that's just me.

And very nice, not-subtle-at-all jab at the constant lensflares. I thought they were a bit excessive, but honestly, that's the worst I can say about my Star Trek movie experience.

As a complete non-ST fan, I gotta say I loved it so much that I think I'm gonna drag my little brother to see it tomorrow.

I gotta share though, my experience in watching it. So, as evidenced by my admission of not being a fan of the series, the ST film is totally bringing in noobs to the experience. Well, cut to the end of the movie with the credits rolling and out comes Leonard Nimoy's name. One of the girls in the group of people (made up of mostly college-aged girls I like to refer to as sorostitutes) sitting in the row behind us commented on it and was like, "OMG, Leonard Nimoy is in it? I wonder if he played Old Spock?"

Being able to count all the ST exposure experiences (via whole episodes or YouTube vids and 15 minutes of ST2:TWOK) on one hand, I can say I honestly came thisclose to throwing my cherry Coke at her. Instead, I facepalmed.

Anyway, I'm so happy that the die-hard fans' overall response has been positive. There's nothing worse than when people get their underoos in a bunch over a remake.

LOL

I hadn't at first, but now that you mention it, I can't believe I didn't catch it sooner.
