I think we can sadly chalk up the lack of interest and activity among affiliates to complacency. A small minority of affiliates have taken the time to contact their local representatives and speak out against these bills. It seems most people are counting on somebody else to fight the fight.

I had the best intentions in NYC, too, but I ate worse than usual and didn't exercise at all. Bad Shawn. But year, that Shepherd's Pie was tasty. And I don't know if the street meat guy uses the fountain water or not, but the hot grill hopefully burns away the bad stuff. That's my grilling theory each time I start up the grill. Congrats on a minimal gain with all of the fun, tasty stuff available there.

Great to see you and hang out. I think street meat in a cowboy hat could well be a once in a lifetime experience. I never had the Old Castle burger, but I had Shepherds Pie last Friday night. Not sure if it was or some late night street meat that night, but I felt sick as a dog for the first half of Saturday. I loved Wil's keynote, too. I'm anxious to try his ideas about scholarships and badges for links.

One thing to consider with bringing food - there is a Duane Reade (similar to Walgreens) about 2 blocks north of the Hilton on 6th Avenue. That's where I go to get supplies for the room, especially shakes that could explode in baggage, and sometimes protein bars get crushed in a suitcase.

Hey Bill - as far as the comment about a business of one when people are on top of their unsubscribes... it's a matter of being attentive to customers. My vendor (AWeber) enables them to say why they're leaving, and I sometimes follow-up to those responses, because I care. No wonder they referred to you as the "repulsive sidekick" in the description when I was setting up my DVR to record the show. My business of more than one keeps me from staying up to watch when Red Eye airs.
