to answer your question, I find that my being bi-vocational helps to fuel my desire for God. The constant interaction and new relationships that come from my two years as a freelance video producer has lead to more opportunity to talk about my own spirituality and to articulate the gospel than all my experience in ministry combined. I find myself falling so much in love with the broken mess of humanity that I'm a part of, and a desire to love well forces me back to dependence on God. I love the church and my faith community adds so much to my life but one thing it rarely does is fuel my desire for God.
