Antiwar Doug, there are huge differences between Conservatives and Liberals, one the CPC in unrepentant Bush haze ideology, the other repenting a little and doing a platform designed around the Environment... Never before has this been done. The former, rabid anti-environmentalists, sabotaging Climate Change conventions, muzzling scientists, adhering to a failed nut case ideology the other having their leader once a head of The Montreal Climate Change Convention.
So there is a difference. I just want a progressive to win this election, I know its difficult to see this happening, we are too comfortable being lead by a minority of maniacs.
Its unimaginable for me to read principles weighing more heavily driving split voting and achieving another Harper Government. There must be an obscenity control fuse within all of us which pops, hasn't Harper done enough? Are you pleased with the control he takes when in power, the brainwashing of many of his zombie followers, cheering his every lie as the truth, making a transforming our Nation of peace keepers, into warriors. Using 25 billion of our money to save the banks, hardly a dime on energy renewables... Have you had enough? Those who don't like the Liberals, have not ever read a platform almost designed around a progressive energy program, unheard of in traditional parties speak. This is how we reward the will to change, we turn away from it and let the Bush clones win....
Arby, be not angry and get the same results as the last time around.. In effect not changing anything is the worst thing I can imagine for a progressive. The Conservatives have a well established horrible record with the Environment. The NDP had a chance to lead, so its hard to say. The Liberals while in power had a weak record as well, but not horrible, there was a will, Kyoto was passed, but no execution, the Conservatives scrapped it, the Conservatives muzzled every scientist on Climate Change while the Liberals did not. Polls are usually reliable now a days... So if the Greens help topple the Conservatives in key ridings, its a step in the right direction, if the Bush Clone Conservatives come back, its not the end of the world, its action delayed once more, you can have all the good will and great intentions, in key ridings your other than NDP and Liberal vote will in the end have done nothing.
Zubi, we dot have proportional representation, neither do dead birds in the Tar sands have a vote. Your reasoning is, vote with your heart, and let the massacre continue. Its best to topple the current Bush clone Government with the Green vote, as a way to show strength, afterwards perhaps there is hope these issues and much greater ones will be addressed.. Otherwise same old business with "death" to the environment Conservatives.
