Any and all Muslims who get irritated at us for "barging" into Pakistan are more than likely already against us for "barging" into Iraq and Afghanistan.

Us "barging" into Pakistan would be more justified than our invasion of Iraq in my opinion. At least we know for a FACT that Pakistan is nuclearly armed and the threat is REAL.

Osama Bin Laden only became the primary target after we were ont he ground in Afghanistan. Stablizing Afghanistan and removing the Taliban from power there were the primary missions of our Military post-911. Bin Laden, as much as we would like to say was primary, didn't become so until later after Afghanistan was "stabilized" and the Taliban was removed from power.

If you remember the video Bin Laden released after the attacks, he praised the attacks but denied any involvement.

In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, the United States government decided to respond militarily, and began to prepare its armed forces to overthrow the Taliban regime it believed was harboring al-Qaeda. Before the United States attacked, it offered Taliban leader Mullah Omar a chance to surrender bin Laden and his top associates. The first forces to be inserted into Afghanistan were Paramilitary Officers from the CIA's elite Special Activities Division (SAD).

What's with this $17 billion cut to the $3.4 trillion budget? Does He think the $17 billion amounts to something significant? He obviously does since he feels the need to have a press conference to announce it.

They say the stimulus package DIRECTLY created hundreds of thousands of jobs. I think They even claimed to have created 1 million + jobs. Where? What jobs? Government jobs? What about the private businesses that RUN America and the economy?

"We can no longer afford to spend like deficits and numbers do not matter."

The economy is obviously not fixed if GM is still considering bankruptcy. The economy is obviously not fixed when people are still foreclosing due to loss of jobs and cuts in pay. The economy is obviously not fixed when schools have to fire teachers and increase class sizes to meet their budgets.

I wish They would wake up on Capital Hill and see the REAL effects of their decisions on the average, hard-working American middle-class.

I want to know the comparison of people with the other numerous strains of flu versus the number of people who were diagnosed with swine flu. I think that would make for an interesting discussion.

Afghanistan and Iraq differ widely in the spectrum of military operations. The Iraqi Surge worked because the fighters there are weak when confronted, the terrain is simple and easily navigated, and we can use our strongest support and fire-power resources. A surge in Afghanistan would be like herding pigs through a slaughter house. The mountains and caves go largely unchecked and unmapped. Afghanistan is definitely a fight for the Navy SEALs, Delta Force and Berets, and Recon Marines.

It is in our best interest to put this threat of the Taliban very high on the President's priority list. The reprecussions of the Pakistani Military failing and the Taliban gaining control of their nuclear arsenal is unimaginable. If the Taliban were to get control of that arsenal, America faces the constant threat of a nuclear attack on its own soil, the total collapse of the global economy, and the possibility our troops abroad will be the target of a mass scale attack that could wipe out foreign governments in the process.

I agree. America needs to take care of itself. America has its own problems. However, being as powerful as we are, we have a responsibility to make sure our interests abroad, as well as at home, are protected and secure from hysteria and misuse.

The Taliban need to be pushed back and they need to be pushed back now. The longer we wait, the longer and the tougher it will be when we decide to jump in with both feet. The more ground they gain in Islamabad, the more resources they gain, the more damage they cause, the more money we will spend, and the larger the threat will become and we will be looking at another Blackhawk Down incident.

The cuts Obama proposes to the defense budget have nothing to do with the troops or the arsenal they are currently using in the wars. The cuts he was speaking of making were the black holes in the defense budget, like the laser attached to an aircraft, a sonic-wave blaster attached to tanks and humvees, and basically the futuristic crap that has sucked tens of billions of dollars away from the troops.

Now, he says one thing and does another. So we will see I guess. However, Pakistan requires action NOW. The Taliban is only 60 miles outside of Islamabad. Now if the Taliban were only 60 miles outside of Kabul, I wouldn't care, but Islamabad is the key to a nuclear arsenal that we have no idea on how large it is or what it takes to actually set off one of the bombs. Nuclear Taliban = Global Threat

I am not sure how I feel about taking our troops out of Iraq. I guess that is because I am not sure how you can define victory in Iraq. I don't feel like we won. We may have accomplished something, but I don't feel like we won anything.

Bring the troops home. I agree with that, but that doesn't mean bring them home and let them sit around. As a former Marine I know how hard it is to just sit around during times of peace prior and after war times. We should be supporting Pakistan in the interest of the global community. A nuclear armed Taliban would be a severe threat to the global economy that is already close to rock bottom. Not to mention, nuclear weapons in the hands of the Taliban also means unlimited funding. They would no longer have to raise money, fight a manual war or negotiate with anyone.

The grandstanding will never end. Like that Demoract Strategist said last night (on the show I can't remember last night), "Obama has had more press conferences in 2 months then George Bush had in 2 terms."

Obama is playing off the attention gained from his election. I personally couldn't stand hearing him talk during his campaign and still cannot stomach him today. He is like that person who is telling you only what you want to hear, but you know they are not going to follow through or do what they say. He irritates me. He flip flops on just about everything. He is taking America out from under us and more-or-less the silent majority is letting him.
