I feel a bit late to the party (er, debate?) but I'm glad I found out about IntenseDebate. I just added it to my new webcomic and I'm curious to see how it works out. I've noticed a slight delay in loading the ID comments, but no more than a few seconds, and presumably visitors will be reading the comic during that time so it doesn't matter.
