Some people go to the movies to see a simple story, going from point A to point B without any deviations, with tight dialogue and that is fine. Those movies are for certain people, and it sounds like you are one of them. However, people like me, and others who appreciate QT's films, we are looking for lots of dialogue, enjoy his sequencing and what you call "dark humor." We enjoy the obscure references, and homages to other directors. I've seen all of his films, maybe 5-6 times each, and find something different each time. The African-American accents in the movie were fine, not exactly right, but close. The problem with sitting through the movie would be Emma Stone's horrific accent. It is jarring and distracting. It is known as "Con-Airing," or "Doing A Cage" referring to Nic Cage and his attempts at a credible Alabama accent in the movie Con Air. It is typical for Hollywood, they will teach you perfect Farsi, but don't expect them to get a regional Southern accent correct. It's not that they couldn't get better dialect coaches, it's that they don't care.. Well, that translates to me not watching their movies. Every time I see a movie/tv show with Southerners, I feel like I'm being smacked with a stick. They range from Deliverance to Foghorn Leghorn to Gone With The Wind. It's bad enough the stereotyping, but they hire all these accent coaches to teach everything from Farsi to Italian, but no one seems to be able to handle a simple Southern accent. There are two new films, The Help, and one coming out soon with Jude Law and Orlando Bloom that just make me cringe. Adding to that, there's a new tv show for this Fall called Hart of Dixie that not only has atrocious accents, it has the whole stereotypical "Southerners have cotillions, live in shacks, drive old pickups, and don't know they're pregnant until they are about to deliver" tropes.
