Big Government : The LA Story, Part IV: Program for Torture Victims

The LA Times is slime - this was obvious when they refused to release the tape they had of Obama giving a farewell speech to his friend and ex-PLO member Rashid Khalidi - apparently Bill Ayers was there too.

Big Government : The Future of Wade Rathke and ACORN, Part III: Wade Rathke Wants to Rule the World

1) You are wrong about electronic "streamlining" of welfare/unemployment/etc not being a political move. In fact, that is the next logical step in implementing the Cloward-Piven strategy and will not only make it easier for "organizers" to bankrupt the government, but also for criminals to commit fraud on the system.

Well, while we don't know his exact grades at Columbia one of the officials there said he didn't make the honor roll - and that was while getting a Mickey Mouse/Political Science degree. I actually suspect that he may not have graduated Magna Cum Laude at Harvard, but that he has merely lied about it for a long time (to get jobs) and that the damn media never bothered to check his story - they just took his word at it. I wish they made a law where political/presidential candidates have to release their school/work records in order to confirm that their resume is valid.

Actually you bring up a good point, because he was raised in Hawaii, which not only has a very large Japanese population, but LOTS of Japanese tourists, he should know the basics of bowing protocol.

Yeah, I was an exchange student in Japan; shaking hands while bowing isn't a big deal, but Obama bowed way too low. I thought this clown was supposed to be "worldly" and "cultured?"

It is nice to see a well-informed congressman. Honestly, the only cure for Chicago politics is probably a nuke - it is too corrupt and too entrenched. I just hope that thing in the White House isn't a sign that it has metastasized to the rest of the nation.

So this provision goes into effect towards the end of Barry's hopefully non-existent 2nd term? Fucking cowards. I wish I was a representative; I'd sneak in a provision in the bill that states: "No government branch has the authority to regulate emissions of natural substances that are necessary components of the ecosphere (e.g. water) except when said emissions are directly and measurably affecting the property rights of another entity." That one sentence would render all 1000+ pages moot and castrate the EPA's current abuses of power.

Okay, I have a question, and maybe it is dumb, but why didn't the Republican leadership tell 20 or so of its moderate members to tell Pelosi that they'd vote for the bill? It was pretty obvious that Pelosi would make it so she'd have exactly the right number of dems vote against it, but if she thought she had more wiggle room than she really had....if those Republicans she thought she had suddenly voted against the bill then it'd either fail outright when it messed up her math or expose more dems to political scrutiny if they had to do an emergency about face and vote for it. Don't these people have any sense of strategy?
