The train station sequence was oddly similar (in theme and visuals) to the third Matrix movie train station sequence.

I'm interested in hearing how you think these movies encourage Christianity. I like the movies myself, but understand how people may think it encourages witchcraft, not Christianity.

Big Hollywood : Charlie Sheen: 'I'm Not Interested In What People Believe'

First off, I consider myself a conservative, but I think you have unfairly categorized libertarians. They don't think that people's behavior has no effect on other people, quite the contrary. What they believe is that people should take responsibility for that behavior. If (and I do mean if) you participate in an activity that in no way harms others, then the government has no right to stop you from engaging in that activity, whatever it may be. However, if your participation in that activity somehow harms others, then the government has a vested interest in protecting its citizens. A libertarian can also have an opinion about whether something is right or wrong, or good or bad behavior. They just don't want to use the government to make people live in what you or anyone else considers the right way to live. And that is what it all boils down to: Government intervention. If you aren't proposing the government stop people from doing those things, then you might actually be a libertarian yourself. Just one with a conscience.

Big Hollywood : Top 5: Actors Who’ve Become Hams

Agree, Samuel L. is way overrated and always seems to be playing a caricature of his earlier roles in whatever he is currently playing. I don't know how he keeps getting cast in sci-fi/comic book movies. And add Nicholas Cage to this list. Although I like most of the movies he has been in, I think I would have liked them better with almost anyone else as his character. He was good in Leaving Las Vegas, when he played a manic depressive alcoholic and he has never stopped playing that role since.

Big Hollywood : The Joys of Hypocrisy

He's making the point that you can recognize that something is wrong and still do it yourself. Like a bank robber who knows that stealing is wrong, but wants the money anyway, or knowing that lying is wrong, but still lying when it makes your life easier. I thought the post was pretty straightforward.

Big Hollywood : I Wish Russell Simmons Were an Atheist

When people say you have to have faith to be an atheist, they mean you have to believe that the universe was never created, it just always was. That life sprang from dirt. That life has no deeper meaning, that there is nothing after you die, that all religions are scams or lies, that all believers have been duped. You have to believe all that in order to be an atheist and that takes faith. If you were being honest, you would be agnostic.

Big Hollywood : Lonewolf Diaries: Europe Waaaaay More Racist Than America

I have to agree. When traveling overseas I remember almost laughable instances of racial stereotyping, things that would have gotten you thrown out of any decent household in America. But, of course they were quick to point out that they weren't half the racists we Americans were.

Big Hollywood : UPDATE: Director Adam McKay Strikes Back

I completely agree with your basic premise that liberals, especially the wealthy ones, are hypocrites. Its been said before, but they are extremely generous - with other people's money. Before they have any credibility on the issue, they should take matters into their own hands and give away their money, and when they're all out, then they can come and ask me for mine. Its odd that because their craft (entertainment) isn't life-and-death, they are allowed to charge outrageous prices and become wealthy off of it, but a drug or insurance company which actually provides a needed service, isn't allowed to make a dime. Where is the logic in that? "I believe that people are good for the most part – even those nasty CEOs." Now this is where I disagree. I think people are mostly bad and occasionally overcome their own sinful nature to do nice things. Which is why I don't need any more government officials with unchecked power or control over my life and that includes my health care.
