He's hit the nail on the head. I remember reading the results of a survey in or around 2003; college students were asked if they believed they could do a better job than the U.S. President was doing. An overwhelming majority answered 'yes.' The ego and false sense of confidence these kids have is astonishing!

A perfect example of the difference between the Left and the Right. The Left believes in pursuing their cause no matter the tactics; the ends justify the means every time. Whereas the Right is interested in Truth. Once the truth of a matter is established, then, and only then, is a plan of action proposed. I believe, in the end, truth will reign.

I look at the difference in Bush's standing with the country after Perino took over. Karen Hughes was fantastic. She intuitively knew what the pulse of Americans was and could craft timely messages that spoke to the country and their concerns. Once she left, it was all downhill for Bush (unfortunately) as far as his ability to read the country and respond accordingly. Think back to the messages he put out after Katrina. Disastrous.

No, not socialism; in fact, they agreed that if anyone refused to work, he shall not eat. They had to work together to make it through that first winter. There were nonbelievers among them (a few), but they were treated the same way. I personally think this is the example we as a nation should follow when handing out welfare to citizens. They must work in some capacity to earn what they are receiving.

For people like this, the money they do have is never enough. He won't put his money in a blind trust because he doesn't trust anyone as much as he trusts himself to increase it (being the smartest guy who walks the earth). People with that kind of pride are blind. Remember the ski incident where the SS agent (who would take a bullet for the guy) got blamed for causing him to fall? Prime example of this guy's mindset.

It's criminal that state legislators would first consider cutting education, home health care, and care for those with disabilities before slashing welfare. California is one of the biggest welfare states paying for everything from food & housing to childcare for those who won't work. Those are mindless priorities when they first seek to punish the worker and payer of the taxes. I'll never understand it.
