Tama Leaver dot Net : Google gets … buzzing?

I suspect Google has essentially placed Wave into indefinite beta ... the take up appears to have been slow and, as you say, the tech just doesn't do the ideas behind it justice. Until it's really that fast and has a more clearly defined purpose, I can't see Wave reaching a critical mass. Buzz seems a lot less in-your-face, and certainly appeared with less build up; they're probably testing the water, but you're right, if it's limited to the GMail users and GMail interface, it's unlikely to draw that many who aren't already GMail users!

Stu, all fair, although adding a timeline might be harder given it's part of a larger comparative graphic - really I might just focus on the USB = box near the bottom - that's the interesting story. :)

Fair enough, some of the colouring is wrong, but I like the idea, at least ...

Tama Leaver dot Net : Learning, Authenticity & Online Policy Primers

Hi Rhys, Explicit licensing with YouTube is a real hassle and it would be nice it they actually implement the ability to explicitly license with Creative Commons (which they've said they're looking into several times, but no cigar yet). You can always add the license details in the textbox to the side, and add a slide/credit at the end of the video stating the CC license. Otherwise, I prefer to use blip.tv which has no 10 min. limits and allows explicit licensing. :)
