There are a few factors I can see that might contribute to these problems with manufacturing in the U.S.:

1. Extremely generous unemployment benefits (who wants to work when they get paid to sit at home and not work?)

2. Unions and their demands (crazy benefit packages and salary demands)

3. Government regulations

That being said, I'm all for bringing manufacturing back home to the U.S.
