No Church should be tax exempt. I don't care who or why they marry.
Why are we subsidizing Churches? That is liberal in my eyes. I don't want my tax dollars going to help religious organizations of any stripes. PERIOD.
A church is a business, maybe 30 years ago it was different. maybe not. either way, tax exemption for a church is a waste of tax payer dollars.
Again if they have a soup kitchen, a halfway house, a battered wife shelter, or something similar, they should be able to write it off. Pretty much Everything else ought to be taxed.

Look, once Gays have the right to marriage, social conservatives will still be able to worship in their churches and refuse to marry gay couples on religious grounds.

However, those churches will not be entitled to any more Federal Dollars, my tax dollars, and that is what really scares the religious right sh*tless.

I'm for smaller government and I don't believe in pumping my tax dollars into religious institutions anyways. If I want to give to them, I can do so of my own free will and volition. The government should not be involved.

If a particular church runs a homeless shelter or a rehab center etc... they can apply for a waiver that divests their church(worship side) from their community enhancing businesses. In those businesses they can mention the love of Jesus and have a crucifix on the wall etc.., they just won't be Legally allowed to spew Anti-Gay rhetoric and keep any tax exemptions.

The question is, can you guys handle it? Because Yes, that is what is coming. I give it 5 years max.

you called me an idiot, stupid, putz, a RINO, told me f*@k you (well phuck you to be exact)

Good thing you know how to hold an argument without resorting to ad hominem attacks *sarc

You even Bet Me Your Ranch! lol

What an emotional journey this must have been for you, glad I could help, that's why I'm here.

I for one am feeling very cleansed by the discussion :)

Is conservatiarian a word? lol

Anyways, I agree with you exactly. I'm a libertarian until it comes to foreign policy, that's where me and the Ron Paulers part ways and their views I find appalling (no pun intended).

Whatever Breitbart calls himself, that's probably what I should call myself, because his beliefs mirror mine about 99.999% of the time. We are both in LA, maybe there's something in the water out here, but i.m.h.o. we think very clearly, carefully, and seriously on the issues at hand. It's nice to know that millions of others feel the same way. I think WE are starting to be the not-so-silent majority in this country!

No one is advocating putting you in jail for free speech.

I and millions of others are advocating laws that will Stop Discrimination. Ever here of Civil Rights legislation? It's called recent history for God's sake try Wikipedia and look it up.

To take my trend/business analogy one step further, which you have not addressed by the way...
Right now, you and your like minded brethren are furiously buying up shares in Horse and buggies, while I am snapping up shares in electric vehicles. It's called a trend line. Don't shoot the messenger, it's just business, nothing personal.

Yes, I believe that writing laws to grant MORE freedom and less regulation to our law-abiding citizens is an appropriate use of tax payer dollars. I guess that's just the small-c conservative in me speaking out.

The only time we need to write laws Taking Away rights is when we are trying to stop Criminals from breaking the Law. Should gays be considered Criminals? Don't answer that, you'll only embarrass yourself.

Up until the 70s gays were completely marginalized by mainstream society. Now they are on the precipice of equal rights in all ways, in the eyes of our Secular US Law. (which you've never discussed by the way)

If you can't read a trend here, then you sir are blind. We call you Ostriches in the business world.

lol

this is great watching you twist yourself into pretzels trying explain how writing laws against same-sex marriage is not taking away HUMAN rights. Because they are less than human to you and to your God lol

"Oh, also, tell me which civil right I am taking away. Name it, when it was passed or defined anywhere"

Well we've been here before about 40-50 years ago when interracial marriage was still illegal in the USA, before then it was never "Passed or Defined Anywhere" either.

US History is replete with righting the wrongs of prejudice. The homosexual issue will be no different. I have confidence in our society and our judiciary.
best regards.

Look at you lol
Your an emotional wreck. Your world is crumbling around you.

You are trying to legislate TAKING AWAY civil rights, this is the very definition of Big Government. Who else should not be allowed to marry and raise children in your mind??

I'm advocating Equal treatment for all competent adult American citizens under secular United States LAW, not your bible.

Again you are an emotional wreck, society is changing its views on homosexuality, you're the dinosaur here, you know you are, that's why you're a nervous wreck because you can't control our free society.

I feel your pain, but again Don't Jump when the court rules on gays and equal rights under Secular Law. You'll get used to the idea eventually and perhaps it will bring you a sense of peace that the Judges finally settled the matter so you don't have to fight about it in your head everyday.
