That is the most bizarre team line up since Grant played 5 strikers! We're at home against one of the teams from the bottom of the league - it's ridiculous. I hope I eat my words, but with that line-up I'm starting to lose a bit of faith in Allardyce. We haven't been scoring of late so why would you play with no width and one striker who is struggling for goals...
5-1 - how depressing! I think the team were arrogant going to this game tonight, feeling that we had some divine right to win it just because we're top. It's the only explanation I can think of for such a shameful display.. Lots of work to be done Sam, let's not lose our focus now!!! ...and I'm not very impressed by our transfer activity either. A very weak effort during this window IMO. If you look at the players stats of those coming in - have we even strengthened??
"Morrison is a superb bit of business IMO" - only time will tell, this move is just a punt on a player who has scored 1 career goal. That's all, a punt...Nothing to get too excited about just yet!
I like the idea of Jelavic - he could possibly cut it in the premier league. Surely Rangers would take Carew and Piquionne in part exchange or on loan?? Carew would be perfect for the SPL...even if we have still pay a proportion of his wages. If it's true we have 10 mill we should go for Jelavic and Sordell..
I think Carew needs to get on the tread mill...and not get off until next Sunday! Benni mkII....I hope not, but he was terrible. He's not fit probably...so then why play him?
I still have faith this season, but agree we desperately need a striker and a right midfielder/ winger. Why did Coliison start instead of Barrera? Why have Gollivan not brought a striker to the club? We lack width and a natural striker.
Gradel impressed me. If we sign him and Maynard before the window shuts I'll be happy. Otherwise I think it's a playoff spot for us this season.
Im hopeful that we'll get our first win of the season today. However, that shouldn't detract away from the main issue that should be concerning our club at the moment....we desperately need a new striker! Gollivan need to stump up £4-6 million for a young, exciting 15-20 goals a season player. Let's hope we don't leave it until the end of the month to secure a new striker. Teams always pay over the odds and end up with a panic buy...
Banner 1 gets my vote! All good efforts though..
I disagree he has the wrong attitude, as was proved when he was sent off against Birmingham. He thinks he's much better than he actually is IMO.
I have a horrible feeling that this season in the Championship could see a return to football violence and hooliganism not only involving Millwall & West Ham, but also Cardiff and Leeds.
