I think the bigger point is to not allow the press to dictate what anything is called. Even if it was called ABC those in the biased media and their mouthpieces will always demean and misdirect any "name". Their intent has nothing to do with taxes really...the intent is to create focus away from the actual events and intent and misguide audiences in a way that tries to get others to dismiss the tea parties or what ever you call them as nothing more than a bunch of misinformed people. Misinformation and misdirection are the only weapons they have when people gather together to voice concern.

The one female "newscaster" that we have seen over and over at one of the tea parties is a classic example of misinformation via dishonest journalism. Do you think that if that event was called Bobo's Birthday Party or George Washington Party that her comments would have been any less ridiculous or any less biased?

We don't need to run from poor journalism...we need to expose it by being able to articulate our vision and goals rather than changing the name.

To me the tea party of 1773 does represent the statement of "no taxation without representation" and in that spirit we, I believe, are asking for no representation without principles, without honesty and without corruption and with a well defined system of checks and balances. Therefore I do believe the "name" to be justified.

I don't really expect to see any Democrat run again Obama in the next election first because he is a sitting President and secondly because if it happens that Obama can not get re-elected it means that no other Democrat will have a chance either.

Although I like Gov. Palin, I would rather see her run for the senate for a few years than I would like to see her running for VP or POTUS in 2012. To me she would be more help on the hill than she would be a great help as VP.

I will be curious how the wonderful spin doctors will handle this one but in the meantime...it really is time for the Pelosi removal tool to be implemented.

Actually I do believe "Tea Parties" is the correct image for these types of gatherings and to change names would be playing right into the hands of those who criticize them the most. It can't be helped that they like to spin the theme to only mean one thing...equated to taxes..but that is their way...the propagandists way to try to demean the true intent.

I believe that we should actually adapt a stronger meaning and define our tea parties as being in spirit of the 1773 patriots who stood up and yet let it be known that our tea parties are defined in American principles and thus we should always refer to our functions and actions as American Principles Tea Parties so that those in disagreement can not be so flip in their dismissal of people revolting against taxes only...we are standing for the first time (for most of us) for our principles, values and way of life. I don't think we should shy away from the concept of the tea parties as much as we should strengthen the language and understanding of them.

I am not sure why people would give MississippiMom negative points for posing simple articulate questions. Being critical of someone who merely asked for opinions to her questions seems to show less tolerance of the spirit of pure dialogue and more the way the extreme edges would reply.

I don't have a lot of answers but my opinion of the "vast amount" of information out there concerning this issue is in reality the same alleged proof that has been recycled a vast amount of times. I just don't spend a lot of time regarding this issue but I will say that I believe Obama has done more to create this skepticism than he has to resolve it.

Obama is shaping up to be a do as I say and not as I do kind of guy when it comes to transparency issues. I have always thought that for a man to open up top secret files when he still refuses to open up his personal history is the example of two-faced governing.

I see no problem in officials investigating all areas of questions regarding birth, name and historical documentation of development through college and all the way to the Senate seat he was elected to. I believe, in the true spirit of transparency, an honest and good man would open all of this up for public view but, I also believe he does not have the courage to let this happen.

I could see him in a more respectful light if he did and, even more appreciative if there was nothing left to speculation on this birth thing.

It is my belief that if there were true transparency, and birth documents were accurate, people would and should accept the legality of the office and start focusing on the more important issues at hand.

I can't imagine why anyone would take offense to her question and feel the need to treat her in a negative way.

Well for the first time ...I don't expect many thumbs up on comments but the question at the beginning of this thread was. "Did you ever own a Fiat?" and then the Editor note of, "I did only once....never again.

Now to me is seems that most feedback about Fiats is being relived from past stories of ownership of these cars back in the 70/80/s...you know during the time of good cars...such as the Pinto, Vega, Gremlin and Chevette!

I remember when Subaru came to the states. The cars were so frail you could bend the bumpers with your hands.
And how about Mazda? Did anyone own an RX series in the 70's when they first hit the market with that wonderful new Wankel engine? I remember! I bought a new RX 4 that blew it's oils seals in the engine after six months of ownership as the mom and pop dealerships quietly scooted out of town leaving these pieces of junk behind.

Now I could have as easily of said...I owned a Mazda only once...never again but something happened in all those years since 1976 (and maybe so since the last time we saw a Fiat imported to our country) it's called adapt or fail. I actually bought a Mazda truck eight or nine years ago and it was pleasingly a worry free product.

I mean come on, it's not like Chrysler has been known for its enduring quality...from the orange peel paint in the 70's to the plasticity of the interior, it was the K car that saved Chrysler years ago and we are talking price line not quality line with those cars.

Surely people can remember the first Honda, Toyota and Datsun(Nissan) models that hit the streets. We used to claim that they were made from recycled beer cans and yet now they have grown into large shares of the US market.

I really don't see the problem being the car (Fiat in this case) as much as the problem existing in over extension and skyrocketing labor associated costs and now government intervention into public sector business. I just don't understand the administrations ability to remove CEO's when they can't properly run businesses that they have such as the Post Office and the business of being a financially stable operation concerning the use of managing our money as a country ...a more responsible country.

Let's fire Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for poor job performance and leave the deciding factors of corporate success or failure to those things that have always decided those outcomes..... free market competition and corporate adaptability within the market. Let's focus on the real story of getting the government out of the running businesses business and simply get out of the way.

Somehow I just don't see Fiat as the enemy here who deserves their tires kicked on speculation before we even have a tire to kick. Their success will not be on the cars of the past but in the cars of the future and their ability to adapt to the American market and labor force. Only with a working blend of both will the outcome be positive.

Now let's turn those little Washington rubber neckers back around and have them do something important like..work for a living and live up to their own responsibilities instead of finger pointing to everyone but themselves.

So if the liberals in the White House and on the Hill are calling for witch hunts regarding the actions of the previous administration and, if they call controlled water boarding torture....what do they call the terrorizing of thousands of New Yorkers by allowing an Air Force One backup and fighter jets low level flights over Manhattan and the ground zero area?

Somehow the idea of the threat of a furry caterpillar or the exposure to running water for 45 seconds doesn't seem near as traumatic! This administration is now responsible for torture activities that affected more people in one day than the previous administration did in eight years.

Now where is the outrage? Where are all those mouthy folks who would rather protect the rights of combatant enemies more than the citizens of their own country? Where is the ACLU suing for answers and demanding justice for those traumatized residents of New York and New Jersey who once again had to relive the fears and pain of 9/11 by witnessing such an incredibly thoughtless act without any advance warning?

Actually I think we should embrace Jeneane Garofalo and hold her up as the poster child of propagandists 101. When intelligence can not be used in discussing different opinions these folks never run out of a supply of people willing to show just how crude and truly unsophisticated they truly are. The common policy of smearing and demeaning are beginning to wear thin just as their tactics have now become overused.

Have you noticed it is the same cookie-cutter identity-in-crisis Hollywood types who cling to the need to re-establish their celebrity that are paraded out to the world as champions of all that is good in the world?

Once again true discussion is replaced by the arrogance that intellect ends where different opinions other than theirs begins. They like to spin this by mock rage of the audacity of others to think they have the right to speak their minds. What an outrage they see this as!

These are the liberals best candidates for spokespersons....those who can not articulate without spewing venomous slurs to anyone who is different than they are? Again I say yes....let this woman be the poster child....let this woman be held up as the example of the ridiculousness of how propagandists attempt to distort and shun.

They typically frenzy on fear because they simply lack quality communication skills. People are beginning to see through this type of destructive chatter and the smoke and mirrors of propaganda techniques are slowly yielding to the demand for principled leadership across the board. This is not a one man issue...this is not a skin color issue, this is not a single party issue and those who are out there that actually have any legitimate commentary against it have yet to show up. The response has been in the hands of the name-callers...the smear merchants and the spin doctors who quote the 95% tax cut talking point when there is no real validity in sight... like it is the cure-all answer to any opposition on any subject.

So I say...embrace this woman and don't stoop to her tactics...pity her incompetence to engage in civil discussions and ....be glad she is an example of those who oppose rather than an example of those that are looking for principled leadership no matter which side of the aisle it comes from!

Yeah it's funny just how despicable all these American citizens were on April 15th! I didn't hear of them looting…I didn't hear of them running into churches and disrupting services..I didn't hear of police having to use tear gas to break up the revolting angry mobs.

Just what was the despicable act this loon speaks of? The right to assemble and voice viewpoints? The audacity of challenging overspending and overall power schemes that plague both sides of the aisle?

Isn't the true despicable act the knee-jerk reaction to these demonstrations by the media and foolish people like this with the need to attempt to smother them with silly talking points and non existent agendas?

Please understand that I respect Rep. Schakowsky's right of freedom of speech just as much as I respect the rights of those who assembled at the Tea Parties to express their views as well.

The one thing that this supposed representative of the people needs to remember is that while she has the right to call these Americans despicable, the people of Illinois have the pleasure and the right to vote her out of her office. She needs to remember that those people who assembled are part of THE PEOPLE in We The People!

I believe anyone has a right to comment or question an issue even though I have not understood what you meant about "singed eyebrows and the charred remains of a house" in your comments above. Are you saying Glenn Beck is inciting this type of behavior or that this will be how those who disagree will react to people like him when they speak?

One of these is an old worn out scare tactic commentary and the other is scarily threatening in nature. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and hope that you are trying to say that we as a people have forgotten how to have an open dialogue and discussions typically end up in anger through misguided passion and intentions, although I believe this is a stretch to assume those words meant anything like this.

I also believe hate is a misunderstood word at times. I can hate the actions or ideals of a person without hating the individual. I firmly believe that I am not the only one that hates the direction that our leaders have taken us yet, I do not know many of them personally and have never spent time on the speculation of hating them as individuals.

I also find it troubling that your sources only are listed as huffingtonpost.com, mediamatters.org and colbertnation.com. and yet I find no source or attempt to go to glennbeck.com or foxnews.com for more direct contact and, if possible, actual and, more importantly, factual unedited transcripts of what may have been said.

It just occurs to me if you really question a persons character or intentions, you would make direct contact with a simple e-mail or call in to his radio show to discuss the matter with the source and not rely on YogiandBooBoo.com or DeputyDawgspewsthenews@editmythoughts.org for total truth and reliability .

On the other hand, I for one do appreciate you posting here. It shows me that even those who may disagree or choose to get their information from other "sources" are paying attention to what is going on and, have been drawn to this website as well.

I applaud you for standing and questioning something you dislike or do not understand. I hope it concerns you enough to seek those other sources to confirm what you have quoted as sources. I would love to hear your comments if you did in fact make contact with Glenn Beck to see if these things that irritate you have been resolved.
