Will YRC be the next big union company to receive a bail out? I drive for another non union ltl carrier in direct competition with YRC. I have had a 30% reduction in my gross pay as a result of the shrinking freight volume available to carriers. If YRC is not able to maintain a working business model because of all the union restrictions and costs associated with the last bastion of insanity that is the Master Freight Agreement, then they need to be allowed to fail. This will increase the amount of freight for carriers who are staying afloat in difficult times i.e. those that are doing it right. Many of the laid off drivers will be able to find work with other companies for similar wages. This is what should have happened BEFORE we gave GM and Chrysler Billions and billions of our hard earned tax dollars. I was steamed when GM and Chrysler got the dough but I think I'll go through the roof if a carrier like YRC gets a dime of money I paid into the tax coffers. Especially when my pay has been so drastically impacted already!

Add carbon taxes inflation and higher interest rates to pay off tarp and other stuff a new soda tax and whats next an M&Ms tax PEANUTBRITTLE? It seems with Social Security and Medicare about to run out of money that we should assume that the costs of universal health care will also go up as our population ages. If we cant pay for the entitlements we have now, how will we ever pay for new ones.

Just another thought THis whole Universal healthcare thing. Please tell me if I missed something. The government wants to provide coverage for like 45 million families without healthcare, I as a taxpayer will be paying for that. Also. if I want to I can choose to pay the premiums for my own plan (if my company elects to keep that option available to me), and be taxed on the plan if I choose to keep it? I thought Obama easn't raising taxes on those of us making under 250K um 235K um???K.

For eight years we listened to the swill about the right being in bed with big oil Halliburton and everything. Now we see GE, The labor unions, ACCORN and the likes rushing in to fill the void. Perhaps decentralize the legislture for most of the year so they can better understand the needs of their constituants? We really need to start electing people who are independant and limit the roles of the national parties in electing our representatives. Maybe then when there's not millions of dollars of campaign money at stake they will listen to the voices of those who elected them and not just toe the party lines. Its not about policy any more its all about power and reelection Just look at the creep who switched parties cause he thinks his chances are better to win. Somewhere the conquest of power has superceded all else for those who seek public office. Once upon a time when this great American experiment was started, people understood that balance was needed to keep power in check. It seems that all but a very few in either party actually understands what their jobs are and what their priorities should be. Even before reading Pelosi's comments on what she believes her job to be, I realized that Most politicians are putting power and party before God and Country. The only difference these days is the republicans seem to do a better job of hiding their motives from the conservatives and the Democrats are masters of guiseing their intentions for the liberals and impoverished. We need to start over, completely wipe congress, and purge the senate. rid ourselves of every last one of them and start over. Insist on term limits and sequester our public servents from the filth that is the lobbying body in D.C.

Amazing the only ones who constantly whine and complain about what other people are doing or saying are those who claim to be the tolerant ones. Now, with all that said I will say that I do not participate in organized religion but I do understand that there is a place for faith and worship in people's lives. LIVE AND LET LIVE but dont and I repeat DONT TREAD ON ME!

Anagnostic or insecure? Your offended by people's beliefs that God is central to their lives. YOUR OFFENDED? You don't even profess to be atheist and your offended? Dissent and your ability to express your own opinions are part of what made this country great. But if you are going to take offence at a group of people simply saying that THEIR OWN PERSONAL BELIEFS are as stated then you do not believe in the right to free speech or freedom of religion or the constitution of these United States of America. If in fact you are offended by this principle why would you not have the insite and decency to assume that those here would be offended by your lack of faith and willingness to express it. The fact is is that there are very few here who are offended by it because people here believe it is within your right to choose.
