/Film : First Look: Zombieland

i was just about to write the exact opposite. i'm completely bored by zombie-movies for quite a while now. ... a couple of strangers has to overcome their differences to survive: a hero, a wimp, a tough guy you don't like at first (but who eventually sacrifices himself for the others), a pregnant chick (or a sick guy), a young likeable couple (sooner or later one of them gets bitten, without the others recognizing it) ... bla! plus: since "shaun of the dead" you definateley need some (selfreferential) humor in it. (nazis help as well.) my favourite part about zombie-movies: a few months prior to the release of the movie you can spend hours on imdb-message-boards, discussing why 'slow' zombies are better than 'fast' zombies. :-) even the cast of this movie doesn't get me interested. i think i'll rewatch return of the living dead instead.

doesn't the trailer give away too much? i never read the book, but i'm pretty sure, i already know, what the basic twist will be.

seems like george lucas raped everybody's childhood a long time ago, and everybody just chose to forget, until the new trilogy came out ;-)

/Film : Ghostbusters 3 Round-Up - Including First Line of Dialogue?

"post-rational, non-conclusive logic" - he didn't come up with that, 90% of imdb-message board-posters already follow that logic.

i'm neither a james cameron, nor a science-fiction fan, but i think for this movie i'll make a three hour car-ride to the next IMAX 3D-theatre. hopefully, if the story sucks, at least the effects will entertain.

i know i'm late to comment, but i'm new here and this podcast was the first i listened to. hilarious! i'm a fan from now on. just great! this movie was stupid beyond belief - pure comedy. (the "collider.com" review really nails it.) i'm a film-nerd from hannover, germany, and since i don't have any friends, who are into movies as much as i am, i just declared you my new best friends - when it comes to movies. yes, i'm lonely. so, i'll be sitting in my bedroom, listening to your podcasts, and have my girlfriend laugh at me, for knowing rotten-tomatoe-percentage-scores to movies, or how many times the word f*** is used in "good fellas" (296). be glad, i don't live in the US. i'd be stalking you ;-) keep up the good work, guys!
