ok, ladies and gents. I finally have some good news. My internet's been restored by the _old_ provider. No reason given, so I'm still in the dark about what they were looking for. (maybe upset that I simply unplugged my computer so they couldn't remote access it?). And don't tell me they can't, cause I used to work for em, and if I could do it in the Corps. then the professionals certainly can... too bad there's nothing to find lol

I'd recommend watching the news, not for the running commentary but for the actual pieces of speeches and rehash of the things that are actually happening so that you can better see the differences between what is said and done.

As far as making a difference, I'm afraid your guess is as good as mine. I've tried asking around for suggestions but always meet silence.

I don't know that I agree with the holistic approach, but I do agree that no one should be forced to undergo medical treatment they do not wish... With a child though, I think they're deferring to the parents, though not having seen the article, I couldn't say for certain.

And I was thinking the same thing when I saw it on the news. I'd have fallen outta my seat if I hadn't been layin down to go to sleep.

Barbarian it's worse than you think mate. Have you ever wondered why the Dems support welfare so rabidly? (and I know I'm going to get flagged a racist on this one) It's to ensure they have the poverty vote, or as some would like to call it the black vote. There are a lot of people who have become accustomed to depending on welfare (whether they want to or not is a topic I'm not getting into). The question is why? Well what are these people going to do when someone wants to limit or abolish welfare? Vote against them, for the Dems.

To me, this is just another form of slavery and it's not just the blacks, it's anyone poor enough to depend on welfare. The only difference is that it isn't slavery for work, it's slavery for a vote, and they don't have to actually take care of you to protect their investment because there's always more poor people falling into welfare.

that being said, you're right. Those of us who do not need it, or in my case, simply refuse it and get by, have absolutely no voice.

And anyone with a 6th grade education SHOULD! but it isn't taught in our schools at all, or wasn't when I went through them a decade ago. This is a travesty of the highest order.

lol Our generals are pretty good at what they do though. So are the politicians... it's just at what they're doing is deceiving people.

There's only one way I know to neutralize the threat, and that is to strike first, and strike hardest. the problem is that there aren't enough people to strike properly, since after the initial bloodiness, anyone standing against the U.S. government is going to be severely outgunned. I've looked around and there are a few sites where past and current military personnel have come out saying that they would NOT raise a weapon against the citizens of the U.S. but there are a lot more that unfortunately don't care. For whom orders are orders and the things they would risk disobeying those orders outweigh the killing of domestic combatants... Which is exactly what everyone who raised arms against the government would be called.

That being said, I've been trying to find anything and I mean _ANYTHING_ to logically convince myself that these lunatics in Washington do not constitute a dire threat to the Constitution of the United States that I swore to protect, a threat to the future of my son whom I need no oath to protect, and to everything our founding fathers believed. There are days when I literally can not sit still because of the lunacy I see out of Washington. It makes me restless, foul tempered, and explosively angry.
But there aren't enough people ready to take that step. Glenn, bless his heart, believes that this can be handled peacefully, and maybe it can. But like you I strongly doubt it. I see the violence coming. I just hope I can find a way to minimize it, limit it to one or two people, or head it off altogether. Doing that would mean never seeing my son grow up... but if I knew that my actions would ensure he grew up in a world that isn't dictated to him every moment of every day that would never allow him to succeed (or fail)... Then the price would be worth it. I could accept that with no reservations.

You are not alone Colonel. Some of us have our gear prepared already, what we can afford.... and are praying we won't have to use it, even as we know better.

Go with God, for if I'm right, few others will have the courage to walk with any of us in the days to come.

Ok, I've gotten a couple questions, and not knowing how to focus my responses, I've had to resort to this broad approach.

First is the question about what I think of Obama trying to 'encourage' people into national service, which puts me in the mind of Hitler's Nazi Youth Groups... Indoctrinate them young, and you've got them for life. Other (less extreme) examples of this include old tobacco company strategies of targeting teens with ads. it's taken what... 50 years or so to turn that tide? I think it puts a very dangerous tool in the hands of whoever is in charge of what these groups are taught or exposed to.

Second is the question of what is going on with my internet access. However I've learned nothing new, as my old service providers have utterly refused to release to me what government agency (they did let THAT much slip) told them to disconnect my service. My next step is to go visit my local DHS office and ask them if I'm under investigation and what for. So if if this isn't related to them yet, it will be soon.

And now I have something to ask of anyone who's interested in helping me out. I'm writing an essay on corruption in politics, and without adequate access to the internet I'm having a hard time laying hands on resources I can refer to for a paper. What I hear coming out of Obama's mouth in his constant press conferences and what I see him actually doing isn't written, so isn't admissable... I've focused it primarily on Obama for no better reason than he's the most blatant at the moment. I'd like to give honorable mention to Sen. Dodd and Sen. Dashel's questionable actions, but that's purely a bonus. Just drop a comment with a link so I can go take a look. Thanks if you help, and if you don't... well I'm a big boy, so thanks anyway ;)
