Um, 11 delegates to 3 isn't exactly a split, based on the outcomes from last night. Plus the fact that Santorum got margins of 3-1 in CO and 4-1 in MN based on said votes alone. There are clearly differences between Santorum and Gingrich, and I don't think this is going to be a retread of Romney/Huckabee from 2008.

Good explanation, Buck. I think the last "ex cathedra" statement any Pope made was from Pius XII regarding the dogma of the Assumption, and that was 62 years ago. Lumen Genitum from Vatican II attempted to clarify the position, but as we all know, it probably made things more ambiguous.

I'll agree with that sentiment. Kudos to Rod Roddenberry and taking a principled step in support of life.

Actually, that's the title of the book by Chris Garner, which is taken from the daycare he put his son in during the year they spent homeless in San Francisco. I really wouldn't go knocking on an experience like that.

Besides, Gardner wasn't initially thrilled with Smith's casting; however, it worked out in the end, even if there were some liberties with the story.

This most recent special was a riot. I was amazed by how quickly he was able to turn around material related to UBL's taking out and put it in to the Achmed bit. The Peanut/Jose/LittleUglyAssJeff bit was priceless, too. Definitely some low, self-deprecating shots throughout, but the fact that Jeff can channel that and get some decent laughs out of it prove the genius of his comedic chops.

Although, I have to admit, those pants were atrocious (you know what I'm talking about)...

No, CIT (now Capitol College) is in Laurel, MD (I should know, I almost graduated with my MS there last year, but I was trying to shoehorn one program into another). Penn State Harrisburg is referred to as Capital College because of the vicinity to Harrisburg (yes, it's Steelton, but it's closer to HIA than it is to the Bethlehem Steel mills).

Well, to pull back the curtain a little on me, I was a resident of Park Forest for about 13 years (lived over by the PFJH/PFES/PFP area), so I'm well aware of the Dark Forest joke. I remember when the areas that separated Canterbury Drive and comprised Camelot/Leawood Lanes were still forest areas.

Actually, if you'd like to exchange info, I'd love to hear about that story.

As for the assessment, it really depended on departments. Granted, Earth and Mineral Sciences has some real AGW true believers (including the infamous Michael Mann, who needs to be removed before I'd give anything to the University in a donation fashion), and some of that may have rubbed off on the EE department (though some of the alternative fuel research is a good thing, even though the backing is extremely misguided).

Nice shout out on Dark Forest, good place to go driving and try to shake lost people following you.

Depends on what you got your diploma in, of course. Like Filg, I've got similar creds, having graduated from a local HS that fed into Penn State, worked in the IT department, and ended up with an engineering degree (which certainly hasn't gone to waste). From my experience, I would have benefitted from not being at University Park and gone to either Beherend or Capital College (Harrisburg) for my program.

Can attest to the blueness of UP: I was dumb enough to vote for Al Gore in '00 (never doing that again). Aside from campus, the Borough of State College, and Harris Township (where the hamlet of Boalsburg is located), Centre County is about as red as they come.

I'm not sure you're watching the same coverage that I am with respect to Penn State. I've seen nothing but sanctimonious lecturing on what people SHOULD have done as opposed to what happened, that it's a huge conspiracy, that Paterno knew way more than he let on, etc. etc. etc. Personally, I think a lot of the detractors in the media have been having a field day, which is precisely why Dana's pointing it out. There's 8 young men that have been horribly wronged by a man whom many thought could be trusted, and instead of focusing on them, it's been the fact that the entire facade has been tarnished and it's an in your face to everyone involved, including the students.

While the circumstances sadden me as an alumnus, it is certainly well overdue for the football offices to be cleared out and replaced with entirely new blood. I don't think I can, in good conscience, support the program financially again until that happens. That includes the fates of both McQueary and Curley after the trials.

"Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I'll never know because I won't eat the filthy m**********r, you know what I'm saying?"

"You've both been to County before, I'm sure. Here it comes!"

"Yo, 'Flock of Seagulls'. Know why we're here?"

"Did you see the size of that gun? It was bigger than him! (beat) We should be f*****g dead, my friend!"

"No, you don't stab her three times! You've just got stab her hard enough to get the needle through!"
"Then what happens?"
"I'm actually a little curious about that, myself..."

I could go on, but those are some of the ones that came off of the top of my head.

Also, I contend that Walken is the only man on this Earth that could have told the story of the Gold Watch with a straight face. Has my dad rolling every time he sees it.
