But why the intermediate "slant" (which has silently disappeared)? Did they really *not* record it after all?

They changed "sin" to "slant", with a correction at the bottom. (I could imagine you saying "spin" and she hearing "sin".)

I didn't think the article was bad at all, as lefty reporting on conservatives goes. (Are my expectations that low?)

It's an unpopular reality, but markets need pain. Otherwise, they become anemic. Not paying (enough of) one's own health-care expenses is an excellent example.
