Rabies is incurable (arguably for one case), so it is 100% fatal.... (or 99.9999). People get bit all over the US hundreds of times (1000's?) by dogs every year.. but since over here rabies has been nearly eliminated from dogs you can see why it might be brushed off anyplace else we are at.
