The best stories are those that are told in grace-- because they are the most honest ones

Claire -- we are so blessed. When some, like you, have experienced awful poverty, how can we ever complain about a single thing? A house that sways in the wind is something not even close to my world.

the problem is that extreme poverty is out of sight, out of mind for most of us.

Your clock observation really has me going. You are so right. We know time it is, but to what end? We don't have enough money -- or time. Realy?

We should both write on this concept soon -- same day, joint post? What do you think?

Rick

Thanks for your comment, for fact checking and your thoughtful feedback.

There were a number of variations, but I found one that quoted his wife and she gave the Wycliffe version. Of course, to many people that would be a 'cult.'

In either case, it was terrible what he did to his family. I know someone personally who has abandoned her marriage and pursued mission -- and Christians are actually applauding her!

The thrust of the High Calling angle is that we often think business and 'mission' are incompatable. Untrue.
Not only would he have honored his wife, he could have really used Slinky for a much bigger gospel purpose.

Yes. Never leave that thought..that passion. If you write or sculpt or paint or work for an audience of one, you'll never go wrong
