my RINO senator SHAMEbliss (r)Ga is helping the dems at every turn. He needs to be primaried in his next election, 4 or 5 years from now, if he makes it to the general I will pull the handle for the dem running against him. Atleast, that way I will expect my newly elected senator to vote against my best interest and I will not be so disappointed after every vote.

Nowhere in the bill of rights is there any limit on the ability of any state to establish an official state religion. As a matter of fact many of the states had officially declared and sanctioned religions at the time of ratification of the Constitution.
There was never any intention of creating a separation of Church and STATE, just the necessary limit of congress's ability to give preference to one states official religion above that of other states.

the house passed an increase and the senate will not pass it, not to mention the fact that POtuS has said he will veto it. It makes it sort of difficult to triangulate and shift blame.

At the end of the day it all comes down to who the repugnican establishment thinks should have their turn in the presidency. We got stuck with 0bambi after the machine churned out mccain, we got a second term with slick willie after being presented with dole as our only choice. The Republican establishment is as much to blame for our current mess as the democrats are. The repub's are the housewife who sits idly by as her drunken husband, in the form of the dem's, beats the children.

Abolish the ethanol subsidy and the fuel content requirement. Then remove federal taxes on gasoline in an amount equal to the subsidy. This would also free up a lot of corn to FOOD production and animal feed. Seems like a win/win for the American consumer.
