Oh My, Kurenai! : A mini update

Aw I'm sorry. I thought I might have to can Intense Debate, but this looks like it's not ID causing the problem. Akismet is just not storing my spam comments. It's just filtering them and then jettisoning them into nowhere.

Oh My, Kurenai! : An Illustrated Guide to Solo Farming Baron Rivendare as a Frost Mage

I have pared mine down to about 15 also, but my limiting factor is caution. I don't seem to have any mana issues. If I'm not careful I pull everything and die in an embarassing pile of level 60 elites. I'm still plugging away though!

Well you're definitely good at it. I used to GM for our Conspiracy X campaign way back in my college days, and it's totally satisfying, but I wasn't very good at thinking on my feet when the party would go do something crazy. It was too hard not to railroad them. I do kind of miss it though. At least I could be assured that the storyline wouldn't be one that bored me utterly!

Yeah, I honestly couldn't believe it when mine dropped on my very first try. I generally have horribly bad luck. Keep on plugging away though, there are plenty of chances left!

Naw, it's the I-Farmed-Deadmines parrot. But it was thematically appropriate. :) And odd how she seems to dye her hair and get a tan when dressed in pirate fashion.

Aurdon's World of Warcraft Mage Blog : Subtle Debate on my comments system

I wondered if the comments were broken, things seemed a bit dead around here. I really like ID when it's working. So much so that I put it in at the new blog also. But I suppose that if it doesn't work you might be better off going with a different system or plugin?

Oh My, Kurenai! : The Weekly Raider's Guide to Flame Leviathan

I'm gonna stand by the way I wrote this for random puggers. Chances are, in a pure pug, your gunner is NOT purely knocking down and picking up barrels. So the fact that theoretically you can do the most dps with nothing but pyrite barrels is sort of irrelevant... because you'll be out of pyrite after a few of them. Hurling boulders doesn't require the use of any resources that you can't control therefore it's the best route in a pug where communication and courtesy are at a low.

If you're a pug and you don't know that your gunner is getting more pyrite for you, you're better off not spending what you have in case you need an escape attempt. If you trust your gunner to play smart, by all means throw barrels, but otherwise, it's prudent to wait, I think. The goal here isn't to do the maximum possible dps, it's to behave prudently and to know what's going on in the fight. Flame Leviathan isn't exactly the Putricide of Ulduar, after all. :P

Oh for sure. When I'm in a siege engine my primary duty is to drive the wrong direction until my gunner is nauseated and yell "SEE JEN JEN.... SEE JEN JEN RUN!" in vent. Also, every time we go in, my RL manages to catapult his gunner at a wall. It's what we do.

Ooh, fair enough. TBH, I have the least experience in a demo of all the vehicles, and when I have done it my goal has always been to chuck things constantly and worry about pyrite as little as possible. I imagine for the purposes of just getting him down either way probably works well enough. Your way is probably faster though. :) Either way is certainly better than the things I see every time the weekly is in Ulduar like siege engines who try to tank FL, demos who run out of pyrite and then ask frantically what pyrite is, or choppers who follow the boss using their little yellow cone attack on him and not dropping tar.

I forgot that NPC! I remember being kind of horrified that this guy was repeatedly volunteering for death... And I do like their little enclave in Silvermoon too, though I didn't play a paladin at the right time to see it when there was still a Naaru inside. I was either being an alliance mage or a horde lowbie who didn't know where to look for cool things like that!
