I lusted after the shelby dodges as well. My dreams were primarily filled with the 89 CSX; who couldnt with those recaro's, bright red paint and all the futuristic pieces like the fiberglass wheels & VNT turbo, plus the fact that it was built by the Texan . They were (and still are IMO) one sexy looking beast.
Yes and while you are on such a trip you will more than likely require the following advice aswell: Few people understand the psychology of dealing with a highway traffic cop. A normal speeder will panic and immediately pull over to the side. This is wrong. It arouses contempt in the cop heart. Make the bastard chase you. He will follow. But he won't know what to make of your blinker signal that says you are about to turn right. This is to let him know you're pulling off for a proper place to talk. It will take him a moment to realize that he's about to make a 180 degree turn at speed, but you will be ready for it. Brace for the g's, and fast heel-toe work.
wonder why they ever stopped selling these... who dosnt want the breeze, sun & fun of a convertible combined with 4X4 and a handy bed to put all your stuff in...I think chrysler figured out this thing would absolutely muder the jeep so they discontinued it. haha ya thats the answer!
ya Lebarons are the only way to go. Turbo, 5 spd., better than average handling (GTC), and still doesnt look too outdated for a 80's drop top. They tend to sell for less than 2 grand in decent shape, then spend about 2-3k making it fast & reliable (for an 80s dodge) and spend the rest on go juice.
The clock is probably for the senior's time attack sessions they have every weekend in the bingo hall parking lot.
There used to be 5-6 AMC Eagles (probably none an SX/4) In a guys driveway beside a building I was working on a few years ago, this just inspired me to take a drive this weekend to see if they are still there (hopefully they arnt all iron puke powered)
Chrysler needs to look back at the early mini's and take notes: Compact size (the caravans they make now could fit an '84 mini inside one of the many stow & goer compartments), 4cyl + 5spd. ( ill take a turbo van please!), And for all those who will no doubt cry for its return AWD- those late AWD caravans were a true arctic expedition machine... to sum it up for any Chry engineers who cruise the H 'verse (we know your watching) make a 2.4 turbo man. trans, AWD caravan That is compact (say between the size of caliber & caravan) and make it as stylish as you can!
That well used "barn find" cobra apeals to me on so many levels. The fact that even in slightly decrepit condition its still beautiful(mabee more so than a shiny trailer queen IMO). While not quite a sleeper, you could still do some sneaky upgrades to scare the unsuspecting bystander.
How do they know the mines are slow? Do they give them an aptitude test and all the mines that dont pass get put to work in the slow minefield?
