Not to put you on the spot (but I guess I will), I think you made my point for me. Someone dares say that the bible is wrong in places, and what he gets back is a discussion about Schleiermacher, Kant, Barth, Wright, Hart, Volf, Witherington, Boyd, Piper, Calvinism, context, genre, narrative, mission, ministry, and ultra-fundamentalism.

Like I said, can't we just say, from what Jesus revealed to us about the nature of God, that He didn't order the massacre of the Canaanites? Can't we just say that? Do we have to resort to a survey of 500 years of Western theology?

Anyway, sorry about rant. Like I said, the comment was just too apropos.
