Should I care or shouldn’t I care this was my feeling after watching the video. I understand if students wouldn’t want continue to go to classes under those conditions, no one would. What I notice was that it was students who hung the noose and was going to have the “ghetto party”. That is what need to be addressed, thing like that can only make situations worst. It’s not a joke if your the only person laughing, which I’m sure if a black person who hung the noose he is the only one laughing. Also, to place the noose in a public school library, he or she needs serious help. He or she should face criminal charges it’s clear what that person was trying to do spark something that will get out of control. I know college doesn’t mean you’re an adult, but at some point you have to grow up and see the world in different eyes. Why even talk about the “Ghetto Party” it’s complete different from the noose. It’s understood that ghetto means poor area from where minorities live, which is a stereotype. That fraternity needs to be dealt with on a level on ethics. Come on what’s so hard about saying let’s have an “Unban Dress Party” if that is the point you wanted to get across. Lastly, let’s not get so uptight about everything that’s seems racist. Maybe the “Ghetto Party” was does just where mixed race people or one race came to just have fun. A lot of problems clearly need a solution maybe they need to start with the students and work their way out to the Chancellor.

I never believed that if a person married a person in the USA they should be allowed to stay as a citizen, but that’s not the point being made here. Regardless if the family was a heterosexuality married couple they clearly have the right to live in the USA as a family. I believe the problem lies right in the last sentence I wrote. Why does a family have to categories as heterosexuality or homosexuality? A family should only be judge when something in family is going wrong neither, heterosexuality and homosexuality is right or wrong. So let us judge from the video rather this family should be ripped apart. Now a day for a family to remain together for 20 years is remarkable. Love is the answer for them 20 years, love for the kids and love for each other. The one partner is in the USA for the safely of her life both her mother and sister were murder in her native country and the murderer was being released. Not only were they going to deport her from her family in the USA, but to where she had no family. This family lives a normal life just as every other loving family does in the USA. The US should stop focusing on breaking up families who has a clear reason to be here and start focusing on how to put more family together. A few classes ago Sam Richard made the statement about how some same sex couples are not allowed to adopt children or it’s extremely difficult. If some of the hard work was refocused on helping same sex couples adopt orphans it would build stronger families in the USA.
This immigration problem falls back on same sex marriage. As the law state there is separation of church and state, which is not the case in almost all the states. If two random drunk people can get married in Las Vegas (who knows the countless sins they both already committed), why can’t two loving people with two loving children be married. I’m sure the world not going to end when same sex couples are allowed to marry. It’ll just end tomorrow.

Tuesday class started just as every class starts; Sam Richards states “this will be the best class of the semester. Once he started talking about freedom and determinism he never lost my focus. What made both ideas so true for me was that I could apply both to my life. One reason I came to college was because I had the freedom to go to college and to change my future. Many obstacles came my way and sure many more will come my way. Just as I have the freedom to go to college I have the freedom to over come those obstacles. For those whoever attempted college and failed it was their fault. They had the chance, but they failed because their time was not used correctly. Sam Richard stated that was a nieve way of thinking, not only do one person have the freedom to make their own choice but, determinism plays a big role in how a person life is shaped. I may be using my freedom to go to college, but what can explain my mother and me not having enough money to be in college and rent a house. I must work countless hours to pay for many different bills. I can’t change that. This has nothing to do with my freedom to make choices. They both have any equal role in any person life. That’s why I feel Sam Richards had one of his best classes, because he made me think and apply these ideas to life and it made sense.

This is a tricky topic, because I can understand both sides of the argument. On the side of the French government they trying keep the public safe. People wearing full body burqas could be a problem when trying to I.d a person, it’s an easy way to hind yourself if you don’t want to be seen. The French government is not asking them to change what their religion, but to be more practical. It is not practical in this modern time to wear cloths that hides your face. On the other side of the argument. What if he French government were to change the law? The police would be wasting time arresting Muslim women, when instead they could be focusing and more important crimes. Also, I don’t believe that Muslim women would change how they dress. Most Muslim women said from the video that they choose to wear burqas on there own, not because their husbands make or other men controlling them. I don’t how the laws work in France, but after they change make it a law the could start telling any group of how they should and shouldn’t dress. Lastly I feel the French government should allow Muslim women to show their faith in their religion (Burqas), as long as it is not hurting anyone or their selves.
