He can travel with his Mexican passport if it is unexpired. Just tell him to open it up when he gives it to TSA along with the ticket. They most likely won't check for his visa.

Dear Mark, I'm not sure where you discerned that from my post, especially the bit about "only way to go." I surely didn't say that. It would be quite moronic and antithetical of my graduate school education for me to say that a strategy is the ONLY way to go, ever. But anyway, may peace be with you.
