Thank you for reminding the mindless leftwingers who it was that paid such an enormous price to give us the country that the people of the world have in the past and still do, want to come to. Edmonbd Burk, one of the framers of the Constitution said; "If this young REPUBLIC ever goes down to oblivion, it will be because of the difficulty of educating its multitude of rulers!". Amazing!! Unless you home school, you can't even teach them this is NOT a domocracy. One of the framers ( I think it was Madison) said " Democracies always end up in tyranny and slavery". This lack of understanding in spite of the fact that every time we pledge allegiance to the flag we say, "and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands" The only way we were to be a democracy, was in the way we elected our represestatives. Otherwise a domocracy becomes MOB RULE!! A Republic is rule by LAW.

If Thomas Jefferson were alive today he would be saying what others said during the last presidential campaign " I have'nt left the democratic party, it's left me!!!"

Thomas Jefferson said ; "I considern trial by jury, the ONLY ANCHOR ever imagined by man, by which a GOVERNMENT CAN BE HELD TO ITS CONSTITUTION." How So ??? Simply go to our first American Dictionary, by Noah Webster , 1928, and look up the word "jury". At the lower part of the definition you will find , PETTY JURIES defined ,( the jury that actually tries the case) it says: "petty juries, consisting usually of twelve men, attend courts to try matters fo fact in civil causes, and to decide BOTH THE LAW AND THE FACT IN CRIMINAL prosecutions. The decision of the PETTY JURY is called A VERDICT." (emphasis mine) Now, since ONE joror can make it impossile to convict (known as a hung jury) that juror has the power to nullify the action of both legeslative houses, the president (executive branch) and the supreme court in this case. They can decide to try it again but hopefully the new jury will also have at least one juror who also knows the Constitution and refuses to convict. You have also just learned how MINORITY rights are to be protected. NOT by legislation, which inevitably tramples on the rights of others!!!
