I agree. In high school it was pretty easy to get herb but alcohol was nearly impossible because it was regulated. If anything, legalization will make it harder for the underage kids to try it.
I guess this means Ron Wyden won't be asked to serve in the Obama Administration. That's good for us though, I don't want to lose Wyden as our Senator.
It must be horrible to be that Caseworker that took the two little children to the deranged dad's home, only to see the house where the children are locked in explode right before their eyes. Trauma, guilt, helplessness...
I don't get these homeless people. Portland spends more money on the homeless than a lot of other major cities in the US. In fact, I remember Sam Adam's saying at one of his press conferences that our city has spent hundreds of millions of dollars. Not a surprise when you see a upscale homeless shelter next to Union Station. I just don't get it though, why do they feel entitled to get even more free shelter from Portland Tax Payers? Not only that, I want my tax dollars to go help Portlanders and Oregonians that have become homeless, not some transient from another part of the Country that came to Portland because of the social services. It infuriated me when I was in downtown and overheard these street kids talking about how in the winter they head down South, then in the summer they come back up to Portland. Wtf? I'm just so sick of these people. Lets help Oregonians not Transients!
People on here are criticizing the Democrats, but don't you all understand that the reason Republicans continue to lose in the 1st district is because the GOP candidates are so unelectable? I'm in the 1st district and I didn't vote for either candidate because they didn't seem appealing at all. I'm waiting for a fiscally conservative progressive politician like Republican Governor Tom McCall. What happened to the Republican Party? It's only full of neo-cons and right wing religious extremists.
I wish Oregon's State Legislature was as Pro-Active as Washington State. The only thing our state cares about is making more money off sick people by doubling the fees on medical marijuana patients.
Somehow I'm not surprised. City wide Wifi FAIL. Balanced budget FAIL. Water Bureau FAIL. Bike Lanes FAIL. Parking Meter FAIL. Time to change our city slogan to the City That Doesn't Work.
If Newt can't be loyal to his first two wives, how are we suppose to know whether he'll be loyal to the United States?
I have absolutely no trust in Randy Leonard managing the Water Bureau since the incident a few years ago during thanksgiving when they found E. coli in the reservoirs and decided not to inform the public before they go on their thanksgiving break. He should have stepped down then. He's the worst politician ever in Portland City Hall and now because of his poor management we've got the most expensive water in the US while the quality of our water is going down.
More reason not to shop in Downtown.
