Ooh I like this. :) Works well. There's a tiny bit of lag even when on the same WiFi network though, so not sure what it will be like out in the wild on 3G etc. But love the interface and set up was a doddle.

Red Ferret : KumoSync keeps your local documents backed up to Google Docs

...and just like busses, along comes another one almost immediately. Insync (https://www.insynchq.com/) looks like it's another competitor for this space. What are they all going to do when Google releases its own file synch offering? Or are they hoping to get bought?

? Ron is that you? Why are you posting as Jean? Anyway nothing to do with me, this is an automatic commenting system, I only see 'em after they've been posted. Maybe it flagged your post as spam for some reason? If you're going to flame us for supporting the 99%, please feel free, but don't expect us to engage you in conversation. Life's too short.

Red Ferret : How to fix your dud laptop battery - in one simple lesson

I think you'll find that most limitations on battery cycle time (I assume you mean recharge time and not battery lifetime?) are put in place by manufacturers as a safety precaution. To read off volts and other stats you'll need to buy a multimeter.

Red Ferret : Build your own handheld flamethrower

I understand your concerns Steve, but having looked closely at the instructions I do not believe that this is something a child or careless person could construct easily. In the wrong hands, just about anything can be a dangerous tool, even a penknife. We do try to err on the side of caution here at Ferret Towers, if we feel that something is potentially dangerous or stupid, but in this case it looked to be far enough removed from general capabilities as to be worth reporting. Thanks for your comment, it's always good to be kept on our toes by our great readers. :)

Red Ferret : Penclic - Hands on review with the hybrid mouse-pen of the future

@Rick, looks like it. I like the concept a lot, but for me one of the most important parts of my mousing life is the scroll wheel, and in that universe the Logitech free-wheel technology just dominates. I don't think I could return to manually having to scroll a wheel to navigate a page, now all I do is a flick and whoosh....!

I'm assuming it's an ergonomic thing. The device is so thin that you need some method of holding it while using the touchscreen. Without a decent sized bevel you would end up holding the screen, which might be sub-optimal?
