Somewhere out there! : Alfresco vs KnowledgeTree - first look

They haven't been supporting the OSS version as well. I've been thinking about changing. I'm not really happy with SAAS for business documentation - amongst other things our local tax authority released a newsletter indicating that use offshore services needed to be done is such a way that local tax laws where not broken. O3spaces or Alfresco are the options I'm considering at the moment. Personally I think it would be nice if someone wrote a git based decentralised system. Distributed workspaces, VDI and mobile computing would make something like this useful.

Somewhere out there! : svk sync smerge

What exact do you mean by \\\"auto sync\\\". auto merge or auto commit? If you use cron you can set up either a git pull or git push command in a script - but merging will still need to be done by a developer.

Yes git allows multiple remote repositories. If you need to run the cron job as root. Then add it to the root crontab: "sudo crontab -e -u root". If you need to run it as another user, run it as root and use sudo -u USER. If you run a script with sudo and if requires a password, then it will just fail.

Yes git will work with Trac. See google for the plugin. sudo might be causing the problem.

I'm mostly using git now. Not sure I can help you, but the basic principle of any cron script is to make sure it runs on the command line first.

Paul Kedrosky: Infectious Greed : A Simple Hedge Fund Outflow Model

Assuming as you say 184 billion in outflows, implies these hedge funds will reduce there asset holdings by a leveraged 1834 billion. Where does this 184 billion go? Likely into bonds or bank deposits. What is the leverage on this side of the transaction? 5 or 2.5 times? Assuming a simple model and the cash can then be used to secure loans at 20-40% security to purchase the "forced" sales from the hedge funds. Then the difference in the market is not 184 to 1834 billion, but 460 or 920 to 1834 biliion or 50% to 75% write down?
