The writers comment of "civilans being put into jeopardy during fighting" is a fairly recent politically correct notion of a so-called "clean war". A "clean war notion" is a very real divergence of the reality of war....bordering on stupidity. We only need to look back on the City Bombing of WWII as part of the direct effort to break the "will" as well as the war fighting capacity of an enemy. It is only when an enemy submits and says enough of the killing and destruction is there an end to a conflict...that IS a reality.

I submit if Hamas, Iran, Talaban, Al Q, etc. want a return to a 11th - 12th Century Caliphate...then we assitst them in reducing their ability to horses and mud huts with plenty of room to bury their dead! Sadly if they hide behind civilans or in cities then so-be-it!

As for Kerry being a combat vet... OK he heard shots fired in anger before he got out of the gig as quick as he could manufacture a reason. The only thing Kerry the Fool has accomplished is being a Useful Idiot for our Enemies. (now that is my opinion and you are equally entitled to ignore it).
