Broadway World.com - Broadway's Premier Web Resource : 'FLOWER DRUM SONG' Among 25 Films Inducted Into Registry 2008/12/31

Good to know that one of the few rare films that were made in Hollywood, with Asian actors portraying asian characters, is now regarded as a treasure. If only Bruce Lee was picked for Kung Fu. That would have been the greatest feat.

Last information I had was that tapwater is checked daily, whilst mineral waters annually. M.Waters could also have been in a plastic bottle for a few years. No sell by date, but does not inspire confidence.

I've heard about Yvonne Ridley, but never read her book. Will have to check it out. I've never read of Joanie de Rijke's story. From what I can see, they have both ended up with Stockholm Syndrome. I wonder, if they've met each other?

Dizzy Thinks : Uncensored Cabinet Expenses

I'd say, go for an election now. The Western world prides itself on democracy. Bush managed to steal one election and nothing was done. We have Brown who refuses to go the electorate. In Iran, they're now rioting on the streets due to a stone election. Perhaps the same should happen here.

I'd vote for Nathan Fillion. Especially after watching the fanmade trailer. He should play a superhero. David Boreanaz was already Angel. I can see him as a new Crow.

/Film : New Last Airbender Casting Stays On Right Side Of Racebending Debate?

Even if you cannot find two Inuit Actors to represent Sokka and Katara, there are still over 4 million Native Americans. Many even agree that Dev Patel could have been cast as Sokka. He does have a British Accent, so not sure how they will change things. I would presume that the voices would be changed anyway. Cartoon is one thing, but a movie is another. It would be strange to hear everyone with the same accent when they come from all over the world. It was already interesting when Zuko had a different accent to his Uncle Iroh. Plus Iroh seemed to be the only one with that voice. As it is. Shyamalan's film will be as convincing as the Kiwi accents in Xena and Hercules.

To Rick: >>>There have never been Inuits who looked like Katara and her brother, never. They look and sound as caucasian the kids next door.<<< The fans against this film wanted Asian Americans and Native Americans (Inuit/Yupik) cast for this film. How are Native Americans and Asian Americans supposed to sound like? I'm British, but as far as I know Native AMERICANS and Asian AMERICANS have AMERICAN accents.

Kurosawa kept the storyline and changed the setting. Same way that "La Femme Nikita", which was French changed into American in "The Assassin" Hong Kong Chinese "The Black Cat". Seven Samurai JApanese was changed into Magnificent Seven. You didn't have a bunch of seven white guys in Samurai armour saving a village of Japanese.

The actor for Kingpin was very good. He presented the stereotypical Black criminal in a non-stereotypical way. He actually wore a suit and was not into hip hop.

That's one of the points. The main cast were all White Caucasian and the background Asian. What changed since David Carradine, Katharine Hepburn and Marlon Brando playing Asians?

Thanks for the review. Good points all. I am reminded of reading about women in Saudi Arabia and the growth in Divorce. One case was of the husband fnding out about the wife owning a camera phone for the two years, they were married. Some women seem to prefer to be second class citizens.

I guess that tourism would the one thing keeping them from destroying the Pyramids along with the history of the Coptic Christians. I am reminded of a colleague who was learning about Egypty. She stated that she preferred the ancient Egyptians to the modern ones. She did not like them at all.
