Obama expropated GM and Crysler and gave a huge part of the companies to their workers. The difference between Mao and Stalin was that the car companies begged him to do it!

Civility means being nice to people. It does not mean random shiftings in one political view to placate your audience. You can be civil and still hold strong, consistent views, which Scarborough does not.

Why don't I like Scarborough? Small example: The man said he thinks the government should raise CAFE standards so high that it would force carmakers to innovate and then two sentences later he touts his libertarian bonfires. Hypocrisy anyone?

The point (in case you did not get it) made in this small exchange and many others I have seen Scarborough go through is that the man has no consistent political view, his finger is in the MSNBC wind and he changes accordingly. This is not civility.

This is why environmentalism is so popular. In a strange reversal of Christianity, it makes everyone mini-Messiahs. Who would not want to be the savior of the world when all you have to do is turn off your lights for a hour?

You ignore the passage of time. Who as killed more in the last 100 years? Atheists or Christians? Beliefs and how people live their beliefs change over time.

There is another thread where people have been discussing Mormons. Even though Presbyterians, Baptists, and Methodists persecuted Mormons horribly early in Mormon history, I hope most Mormons realize people of those faths are not the same as the people who persecuted the Mormon Church over a hundred years ago. I do find it interesting that people who were for prop 8 thought it was ok to black list Mormons after the prop failed though.

You have a truly bent view of Christianity. I can tell that much from your posts. Christians have no excuse when they do something wrong, rather they have a responsibility to change, like most people I guess.
