Geeez louise, people, leave the guy alone. You don't know anything about how much Matt or anyone else is paid, what he's expected to do for that money, what his other responsibilities might be... and I'll bet not a single one of you who constantly critique him have ever run a site like this or anything close. You have no idea what it's like. If you think you can do better, go start your own, superior blog -- then we'll talk. Otherwise... chill out, already.

Exactly. The game did not suck. The outcome? OK, the outcome sucked. For us. But the game was excellent.

Also, what's this nonsense about "sleepwalk games?" Both teams had plenty of life; this was an old-fashioned pitchers duel, and, for me, it was exciting to watch. I truly don't understand how you can fail to appreciate a game like this. I mean, yeah, it sucks to lose, but I'd rather watch a tight 2-1 game wtih incredible pitching than a 12-0 blowout any day. I feel like anybody who would rather watch the blowout doesn't really like baseball all that much -- they don't like the art of the game, they just like to beat the crap out of the other guys. I'd rather watch something close, even if we lose.

Sh*t happens. This was a well pitched game on both sides, and I enjoyed watching it. Johnson had nasty stuff and deserved the win. Johan deserved it too, but only one pitcher and one team gets to win. Those are the rules.

And Santana, by the way, hasn't lost a game since last June, if I remember that statistic, so I'm sure he's fine.
