You can fortify your home in Oklahoma. But if you're committing drug felonies behind it, then the fortification is another felony charge. It's a debatable issue, but it's not insane. You don't go to jail if you have a security door or other security fortifications unless you get busted cooking meth or something. Be accurate. Freedom's still legal - but it's always been something we had to fight for, and still do.

You know that Fred Phelps is a Democrat, right? Ran for office many times in Kansas as a Democrat, hosted fundraisers for Al Gore. Never heard anyone, certainly no conservative of any note, call for "eliminating all Muslims". Have heard of Muslims call for eliminating all Jews, though.

Concur with you about the birthers -they are nuts, and mostly they are conservatives. We have the birthers, the left has the truthers. Not a lot of depth there on either side. Also agree that Obama was right not to continue to engage on that issue. Nuts shouldn't be encouraged on either side. It could cause fire to melt steel...
