The whole skit, not just the dog, was funny.

The mention of Maureen Stapleton in Interiors brought to mind something I got from watching the film. Throughout the film, it's apparent Geraldine Page's character is like a black hole, she sucks everything in (including her family's love for her) and gives nothing in return. When she commits suicide at the end, I realized just how antithetical she and Stapleton's character are. One of the daughters nearly dies trying to save her mother, and it's Stapleton's character who saves her. While the mother gave nothing to her family by way of love, the stepmother wants to give everything.

I never forgot Reagan's line in the film after he knocked out Raymond Massey: “The iron fist has a glass jaw.”

John Wayne getting in touch with his inner feelings would have been weird; John Wayne fighting a giant squid wasn't. The dog was hilarious, even when he wasn't talking, and Ray Milland gave a good performance. On the whole, Reap The Wild Wind stands out because it was the only film to feature John Wayne in a performance directed by Cecil B. DeMille (and it's a shame that was the only film they made together).

As for Paulette Goddard, who couldn't fall in love with her in The Great Dictator or Unconquered for that matter? Not only that, her singing that song when she's in Charleston in Reap The Wild Wind was memorable (especially the smile on her face when she'd say “Aboard the Nellie B”).

Elaine's answer to the question of how she could not like The English Patient conveys my sentiments perfectly: “It sucked.”

Is Jack Lugar of any relation to Dick Lugar?

Stanley Kubrick was quoted as saying he lets his work speak for themselves. Apparently, what The Shining has to say makes no sense in the least (no wonder Stephen King didn't like it).

Sorry to hear of Robert Hegyes and Ian Abercrombie passing away. I remember the pilot for Welcome Back, Kotter; the way Hegyes pronounced San Juan always made me laugh. And who could possibly forget Mr. Pitt? One of the things about Seinfeld that made it a classic was the number of hilarious recurring characters you'd see from time to time. Whether it was Newman, Mickey, J. Peterman, George's parents, Jerry's parents, Mr. Pitt, George Steinbrenner, Kruger, David Puddy, Neil Bannion, Jackie Chiles and so on, they were so funny it is impossible to name any of them as the funniest recurring character.

The list of top 10 Director's Cut films is what it is (I say that because I've only seen two of the films listed). I thought the expansion of The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers & Touch Of Evil were excellent.

I still remember that it wasn't too long ago when Mel Brooks received a star in the Hollywood Walk Of Fame, and the first thought in my mind was, It's about time!

Perhaps if I ever read any of the Marvel comic books, I might have a different perspective of the films Marvel has produced so far, but from what I've seen, I've had no complaints.

I was pleasantly surprised by Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr. initially was the last actor I'd have thought to play Tony Stark), found Iron Man 2 to be equally as good (although it was a shame they didn't cast Terrence Howard to reprise the role of Colonel Rhodes), and Thor was pure fun (it surprised me to find out Kenneth Branagh directed it). I look forward to checking out The Avengers this summer.

I also remember Dale in three episodes from the CSI shows: he played a mental patient in an episode of CSI (good performance), but he was especially memorable as a serial killer in a 2-part crossover of CSI:Miami & CSI:NY. I liked the ending between him and Gary Sinise at the end of the CSI:NY episode.

What I saw of Harper, I liked, particularly Paul Newman's performance. I'll try to watch it.

When the subject of plastic surgery comes up, I would cite one example worthy of note: Donna Mills. She looked hot in Knots Landing, and today, still looks hot, but more importantly, she has not (to the best of my knowledge) undergone any plastic surgery, as evidenced by how naturally she has aged.

The list of actresses who've gotten hotter with age is an interesting one. I definitely agree Julianne Moore and Gillian Anderson look smoking hot these days.
