Yes please stay White_rose. I did read about the group that whose name you use. It was a very sad and inspirational. Did you get a chance to read the story of Helmuth Hubener? He was a 17 year youth beheaded by the Nazis for passing pamphlets at school. I wonder if he knew the White Rose group?

I find it hard to believe that the people who hated Bush for his "NAZI" agenda will remain passive with Obama's direct assault on freedom. They have the most to loose, as they make a living complaining. A short review of history would show that the "do-gooders" are always the first to be die in a revolution. They are useful tools of the revolution and DEAD by revolutionary thugs before it's over. Voting for Obama was not wrong, but watching our country destroyed by him is. I like that "1 PROBATIONARY TERM" :) The question is who would control the probation? People will always differ and that is what makes life interesting and gives America strength. Like our founding fathers I would rather see the State Governments strong. In fact .... I truly believe the States will save our Republic. Eventually the rally cry "Save our Constitution" will be sounded and the States will rise up and defend the Constitution. They will restore it to its rightful place: a beacon of freedom for the whole world; A shinning city on a hill. God I love this country! sallietoo you have passion and that's a good thing during a crisis. Beware of those who would use your passion for their own evil ends.

LOL - I doubt a state legislature would let the Fed. Senator stay to long . Since when did a group of politicians allow anyone to have that kind of power. Jealousy alone would drive them to replace the senator just to get the great benefits. :)

After repealing the 17th Amendment, being a Federal Senator for life might not be a bad thing. That would happen if the State Government thought their Federal Senator did a good job for the State. The way it is now our Federal Senators are giving bread to the mob to stay in office, not representing the State. Like it was in Rome so it is now - Give the mob bread and circuses (welfare and entertainment) to gain power and mollify the voters.

I like term limits Sallietoo, but think about this - Three terms in congress for a senator is eighteen years. That would be plenty of time for lobbyist corruption. Why not repeal the 17 Amendment and let the state legislatures choose a senator's term? That way the senator would more fully support the 10th Amendment, which would strengthen the state and weaken the federal government. This was the original intent of our Founding Fathers. Strong states and a limited federal government (as our constitution sets forth) is good for the people because if you don't like the politics of your state you can move, but leaving the country is difficult.
