Ron Paul aside I don't see a weak national defense candidate, we are all in part libertarians but true libertarianism is a tough master and requires dogmatic reactions to all things. Most of us are not wired that way we are in the end all pragmatic. Scott brown, an east coast liberal republican running in a state race, sure we have room for him but not on a national ticket .Sarah Palin on the other hand broad national appeal with manufactured negatives made out of whole cloth as easily dismissed as the caricatures of Reagan as a doting fool (perhaps you are to young to remember Ray-Guns negative machine hits. The big tent is why there is room for compromise and although unlikely a brokered convention. 2. Favorite Sons is was a small affect one state does not deliver a convention or an election. 3. We in our primary are selecting our next president. we need to make this as tough a contest as possible as divisive as possible it is that toughness in American politics that the electorate misses. We want to look under the hood and kick the tires not buy the packaging in the display window. the American public did that last time and sir i submit the majority is not ready to do that again. a brokered convention though still along shot would energize this party and this nation in a way we have not experience in our lifetimes.

I must disagree with the author this is not incompetence. I am not convinced that this isn't the reelection plan of the dear one. Involvement of one more war, this one with a nuclear drama as background. This administration has pressed Israel as far as it can, weakened it as much as possible. It has created fear in its population by destabilizing its already unstable neighbors. Now I believe it will press a war, we will fight alongside Israel with just enough power to keep the hounds at bay, If America does what it usually does support its commander in times of war Obama sweeps. By design our Military action will never quite take victory. Israel will be left in a perpetually terrorized state. Such a scenario has Israel giving it all up accepting untenable borders with hollow promises of American defense. Meanwhile in the interest of peace we provide "defensive" weapons and money to its neighbors in exchange for peace. In time of course Israel succumbs. Intresting I have seen the term before and I never paid it much mind. I guess i am not skilled enough at playing the race card to see that as a slur, it sounds more like a tourism board slogan. I do not doubt the anti Jewish sentiments of Media Matters but if you are right and that is the term then that would be as silly as attacking America First as a threat to world peace. Okay I know the Barts have a policy of no racial slurs and I am okay with that, but if it is to be the meat of an article it would be helpful to know what the heck we are talking about. Media Matters needs to be careful about throwing around the “nazi” term especially as they’ve been heavily criticized by everyone from the Simon Wiesenthal Center for using an antisemitic slur; even Media Matters allies have thrown them under the bus due to their refusal to stop using the slur or cease employing the writers who use it. They’re eager to deflect the negative attention, so look to trump up a controversy somewhere as a distraction. Without an indication as to what the slur is it is impossible for the NO MM reader to determine if this is substantiated or just rhetoric. PC becomes particularilly dangerous when it puts the truth up for grabs
