Any worthy cause needs and deserves to have its anthems. Keep it, and create and find other like music that puts to song the principles and ideals that true supporters of the constitution believe in. We need a entire section on the site for music, because music can help break down walls, open doors and inspire courage when the head winds get strong.

Colin Powell said, "I don't like slogans anymore like 'limited government.' That's not the right answer. The right answer is, give me a government that works."

Limited Government is not a slogan. It is a principle built into the constitution. Powell sounds like a progressive and disloyal to the principles of individual liberty. I want a government that works too, but it needs to work for the promotion of individual liberty.

The right answer will always be to bind government with the chains of the Constitution Mr. Powell!

Obama said, "The reckless fiscal policies of the past have left us in a very deep hole, and digging our way out of it will take time, patience and some tough choices."

I agree with BHO in that "reckless fiscal policies of the past have left us in a very deep hole." His administration is inheriting the mess left by previous administrations. But someone needs to tell this guy that when you are in a hole YOU NEED TO STOP DIGGING!!! If we keep trying to dig our way out of the hole, we will up tunneling our way to China, but I guess that's the plan. Keep begging the Chinese to buy our debt.

Driveby Questions:

How many Americans do you see crashing the boarders of Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Honduras, Nicaragua and Venezuela to live in those countries any way they can? – Legally or illegally

Can you tell me of another political/economic system with concrete historical examples that maximizes personal liberties and produces the prosperity America has seen?

I agree with OldMarine that no system is perfect, but some are certainly better than others at promoting life, liberty and the protection of property. So which system of government puts the power into the hands of the people in determining their own destiny or making course corrections should the system get off track?

I’ll take this republic and capitalism over any other system in a heart beat despite the problems created by the dishonest, the corrupt, and the apathetic dolts within her boarders.

9-12ers - If America ever fails, it will be because we have strayed from the principles designed into our Constitution and because we have compromised our values.

Questions: Don’t plants need sun light to grow? Wouldn’t this threaten agriculture? Wouldn’t this lead to a reduction in our ability to produce food for the growing populations of the world?

Perhaps the answer to questions like these is what Holdren was thinking about when he said there could be grave side effects.

Last Question: Why are people in the white house even talking about stuff like this? It just seems crazy.

When I heard about this from a family member I was dumbfounded.

John Holdren, Obama Science and Technology Advisor, announced to the Associated Press that the Obama administration was considering climate engineering. This would entail shooting/blasting pollution particles in the atmosphere to reflect sun light and thereby cool the earth. Later he back pedaled on his comments when they were being publicized.

Some of Holdren’s remarked quoted by Associated Press

"It's got to be looked at”
"We don't have the luxury of taking any approach off the table."
"we might get desperate enough to want to use it"

I believe in hard work, ingenuity and thrift. Capitalism and free markets allow me to keep what I earn. I also believe in charity, but charity is not charity if I am forced to give or receive something I did not want or earn.

Excellent post! However, I would argue there are more then 545 to blame. You are forgetting all that were elected to office before them who mocked the constitution and sacrifice of the founders with their actions. Additionally, who was it that elected them to office? - Regretfully, we Americans are all to blame too for not being more vigilant. I will never be lazy in doing my homework again when it comes to electing representatives. There have been times when I was not very well informed about some candidates at the polls. We all need to commit to working harder and doing better and electing officials who love and respect the constitution and who act according to values and principles. Write to congress about your grievances!!!
