Just as not all breeds need CERF testing, some people don't know that is something they should look for if they are looking at certain breeds. I like what you said about people not needing the best of breed. Many just fall in love with the "look" of a dog and don't realize the amount of exercise and training they must have. I loved my galumphing bird dog Dickens - Eng Springer Spaniel - his legs were longer than the breed guidelilnes, so the breeder got him fixed and sent him of to be a pet. Dickens was great at obedience, although get a gaggle of geese in the lake and all that disappeared! I had to tell him he was not supposed to go for the live birds...he was funny and wonderful.
