Exactly.

It costs significantly less per mile to lay dedicated "busway" than track. Buses are more easily transported on-site and more easily serviced. Changes to routes or layouts are significantly cheaper.

It's irrational and unfair to chain something or someone else to your perception of their past self.

If something drifts from what I want it to be, I look elsewhere.

You know it's 1978 when there's a mysterious electronics-containing looking box sitting on your valve cover with a vacuum line hooked to it.

We generally accept that it's awesome.

So we feel free to randomly mock it all the time.

In seriousness, it's very good most of the time, but has a hard time maintaining that "OMFG THIS IS AWESOME" impression in one's mind after ~3 seasons of watching.

Good call.

Never had a problem with a car while on stands, but once got bit when I put it down.

I forget what I was doing, but it was up long enough and did enough different things on the Uberbird that I forgot it either wasn't in gear or didn't have the parking brake on or something, and it started rolling right as it hit the ground. Luckily a quick jam of something under the wheel stopped it, but that was a little dicey for a second...

Not that I'm capable of doing so, but I'd love to see someone with decent design experience (Rusty? The guy from Dean's Garage?) take a concept car like this and de-concept it to a feasible production car to see if it's the silly outfit or the girl underneath that we're lusting for.

Good call. Those were odd, rare and desirable enough to make good comparisons.

Ah, but they sold a hojillion Town Cars, they had mediocre cred to begin with, and were replaced by better models.

I suspect these will be more like Volvo V70Rs, AMG or Audi RS# wagons. Which, in fairness, aren't more than ~5 years old, but absolutely refuse to drop into an affordable price range. Though, I suppose the Caddy will be a much more reasonable maintenance proposition at 10+ years than any DOHC Krautwagen.
