WWII was quite a long time ago. There was a little more to it than some are aware. The Japanese committed many acts on Americans during that time, ilke sloppy beheadings of thousands, to train their officers. Ask yourself, why did we decide to drop the A bombs? The most destructive power ever used in war. There were a great many things that were let slide. There are lots of good books, that aren't liberal misrepresentations of history.

Point blank. Bush kept us safe.

To the bleeding heart crowd, that wish to extend out Constitutinal Rights to the whole world. These rights you and I enjoy, were not FREE. They were paid for with lives and real blood. I fought my war. How many that are so upset, ever did?

Fact: Navy SEALs go thru much worse than this as part of their training. Certain other members of the Navy and other branches go thru a simulated prisoner of war/interrogation coarse.

By releasing details of these tactics of interrogation, our nation is less safe, than it was a few weeks ago. the CIA and other agencies are hampered, and the whole nation is at risk.

Our ememies do not hate us for anything we have done. They hate us because we are, this will not change. We are the devil nation for Islamic Extremists, and we will never be their BFF (best friend forever).

I want to know Who is the president? I assume it is not Bush. It is a little late to bring up the last 8 years, though it seems more popular than it was during the last election, or even 10, since, that was Clintons time. We have the problem to deal with now. Never had my ship fired on, without returning fire. Must be a new policy.

Part of the mission of the Navy, is to ensure open waterways for free trade, and to guard agains piracy. At least used to be, before our military was downsized, in the 90's by Bill Clinton. I sailed the West PAC for almost 8 years. This would not have happened on this scale, when the U.S. Navy was in full force. If Obama wants to gain my respect, militarily, build our Navy back up. I believe the Navy SEALs performed the rescue of Captain Phillips, not Mr. Obama. There was a delay in this rescue, of several days, due to diplomatic negotiations, which IMO hampered an operation, that could have been carried out with 24 hours with the same results. This is what the SEALs do. We may not have 4 days to waste time next time. Being former Navy in the aviation field. Why not pull an Aircraft carrier into the area? Alert fighters can travel much faster than a ship, and use one of several options to take care of the situation pronto. Send in helo's to pick up prisoners. It will work, it has been done before.

I am a Desert Storm Veteran also. I really do not believe the ACLU would touch, this liberal attack. Much like in other instances, where their politics were involved. They (ACLU) do tend to pick an choose, what they get involved with.

It seems odd, that abroad and here in this country, that we have taken the kinder gentler approach on the "overseas contingency operation" or if you say it like a man. War on Terror. I wonder, we are supposed to be nice to the little misunderstood terrorists, and call them something nicer. Yet, we patriots, that can see and realize, that this country has strayed for 30 years or more from the Constitution, and our Government, wants us to act as their subjects, rather than the ones that they work for, are to be labeled as Right-wing Extremists, or Domestic Terrorist.

I for one can for sure and for certain, say that I did not cause the death threats or the threats of violence, to the AIG bonus recipiants. I also, did not try to pump up people to be angry with them. nor did I insist that their names be made public, so people could take bus tours to their homes and harrass and intimidate them. I also did not vote to give them the bailout money. Mr. Obama did, all of these things, so who is calling who the Terrorist?.

I am sure the Captain, acted with his leadership skills. He had to be authorized to do so, no matter what is written.

And for the Obama defender crowd. Hope you weren't one of those that criticized our former President for 8 years non-stop. Obama, is showing that he, lacks leadership experience. Anyone, that supported him should realize and acknowledge, that he is hopefully learning thru on the job training, about actually being a leader. Being an effective leader, means not always making your supporter happy. It is doing what is right, when it is right. We will not have 5 days for our next threat. This window has narrowed, with his delay and final response. This is something he needs to learn soon.

I will give Obama some credit, in this one. I am glad he did make this hard decision. As a leader, every day can present a hard decision, of life or death. I served in the Navy and I lost friends, in a fire (when they were sealed in after a blast),which resulted in saving the rest of the ship. I and thousands of others are alive, because of our captains leadership. I did not admire my Captain, for his decision, but I respect that he made a decision, that could have been a catastrophy, had he hesitated for even a moment.

I did notice, that there were two authorizations of force. We will never know what the first one was, or what stipulations were. The later, we have seen the results of our military. I do have concerns and aprehensions about, the delay for action, in my opinion, had we been dealing with anyone, but randsom seekers, our fellow American, would not have been alive after 5 days, in a similar situation. My wish is that, since Mr. Obama is the pesident, he mature , as a decision maker. Some things require much thought and deliberation, while others just don't provide that luxuary..
