This is one of those movies my father made me sit down and watch with him as a teenager. Of course I went in thinking it would suck then quickly had to hide my immediate interest and adoration for it. Plus, I've come to learn you just can't go wrong with anything that has Walter Matthau in it. Some of the other movies he made me watch as a kid that I now love are, Big Wednesday, Gunga Din, and Sometimes a Great Notion.

So it isn't just that SNL can't make a funny skit about Obama, they can't do a funny political skit about anyone.

I like how they tried to portray Mitt as being unable to read from a teleprompter. I guess they want to highlight by contrast the only thing Obama can do well. Just goes to prove there is nothing funny about incompetence.

I don't believe this for a minute. I think Samuel L. Jackson, and so many others like him, voted for Obama is because they are both stupid. Why wouldn't you want someone like yourself to be President?

Seeing how gas prices in California are already at $3.80 gallon and it's only February, Obama is going to have a tough time selling his energy policy to a nation that will be facing gas prices well above $4.00 gallon near election time. The media's silence on this issue is truly astounding.

This election is about more than just who holds the WH in 2013, this election is about exposing Liberal Progressives for what they really are, Socialists. There are exactly 2 ways of doing this: One is to have an articulate, genuinely intelligent, and knowledgeable history buff like Newt Gingrich debate Obama on national television. The other is to give Liberals everything they want which we all know will lead to a collapse of our system. Please see Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Cuba, East Germany and a host of others for examples.

Now Mitt will do fine in a debate against Obama and I voted for the guy in the last primary cycle, but all we really get is the Conservative version of everything will be rainbows and lollipops. The same is true of Santorum. But Newt will absolutely decimate Obama in a debate setting. He's the only candidate that gives practical real world examples in his answers to most questions. This will help those Independents (who, let's face it, aren't quite sure what they stand for) make up their minds about what kind of America they want for the future. There's probably even a few Dems who would realize they've been lied to all these years and their way is a bad path to continue "down", and I mean that literally.

We need a candidate who can bluntly articulate for the masses why Socialism is bad for us, why Iran has to be dealt with in stronger terms than "lets wait to see how this plays out", why we need a strong military, space program, judiciary, and economic policy. Newt will not only educate the President as well as most of us on these things, but he will do it in the most belittling and humiliating fashion imaginable. That is what we need right now to temporarily defeat this Liberal cancer. We will never be rid of Liberals but we can keep them at bay for the next 12 years or so. But with Mitt or Santorum we have this same fight again in 4 years. None of these guys are perfect and if we keep holding out for perfection we will be as disappointed in our candidate as the Dems are in Obama. Lets end this for a while and watch Newt rip the Left a new one every chance he gets.

All I can go by is what you stated above, obviously I don't know what you do outside of watching Stewart's show. I think I've kept my comments on the topic of Stewart and his show though, and I think I have presented more than enough evidence to prove my point or "my narrative" as you say.

I think this is where we have to just agree to disagree. Thanks for keeping things civil and rational. We don't often get reasoned voices from those with opposing views in here, so my hat goes off to you for that.

If you want to call Fox "a political arm of the Republican party" then you have to concede that the rest of the MSM is the "political arm of the Democrat party."

I don't get why people can't see that what they are NOT being told is just as important as what they are being told, as far as the intent to manipulate goes by the messenger. Jon's activism stems from his NON-coverage of the Democrats, especially the President.

As for Jon ignoring Bachman's gaffes, I already stated that he can't do everything and lets be honest a couple of those are just mistakes because she is giving 4 speeches a day plus interviews so it is very easy to "say all the oil" instead of "part of the oil." And by bringing this up you don't even see that you are doing it again. You are holding a Republican to the highest degree of accuracy in every word that comes out of her mouth while excusing it from Democrats. Do you know why you keep doing this BigBart? It is from years of indoctrination from watching Stewart. This is the cornerstone of Jon's comedy and success as I've already pointed out to you. But how would you know what gaffes Dems make if Stewart and the rest of the MSM refuse to report them. You wouldn't and how could you.
