As far as preparing for the future, my advice would be to get a firm grip on good theology. Christian cliche about the end times as vomited out by the Left Behind series and gobbled up by the lazy masses has left a perception in the western church that we'll all be zapped out of here before it all hits the fan.

Things are going to get tough and we will go through the tribulation. The falling away will happen as the masses wont be able to equate their surroundings with their christian cliche worldview.

It will get bad. Very bad - the number of humans dying as stated in Revelations is staggering when you think of it. And unless God steps in, mankind would totally obliterate itself.

The upcoming economic meltdown is the precursor to these things and they will happen. We just need to make sure we get a good grip of our understanding of God and realise that enduring the tribulation, no matter how horrible it will be, will be nothing compared to enduring the wrath of God - and for that I'm grateful that we will be out of here.

No need for a thesis on communication brother. Retrospect reviews aren't worth much. To compare the incarnation of Jesus to "communication" is a stretch to say the least. And then to compare Scripture to the whole saga regarding this book and lump it all into the word "communication, is simply, a joke.

God communicates to us through His Word. This "discussion" is amongst fallen man. True, it is a discussion, but please don't refer to divine examples as your reference point - you lose credibility.

I know you "worked" hard to pump out your review, and I don't discount it for a minute. But this topic is worthy of a debate amongst brighter people then you and me and a light hearted response, while it may have a "right to exist" - shouldn't be allowed to influence the children of God. You have a platform here. Make sure it honours God instead of man.

"fascinating study in communication" - is a kinda weird reason to embrace this debate Scott don't you think? :) I believe the topics raised here are far more important then studying communication techniques and the responses to them. Seeing as you started off on a light note, it was no surprise to see you end off lightly as well. This topic has major consequences and a light hearted response, I believe, has no right to exist.
