Big Hollywood : Celebs Slammed for Partying in Same Building as Houston's Body

Last Thursday nobody even gave Whitney Houston a second thought. Now, she has finally succumbed to her demons and everyone is supposed to feel sad? Frankly I'm surprised she has survived this long. LL Cool J's opening speech was brief, sincere and respectful. And that was enough.

Big Hollywood : 'The Rebound' DVD Review: Zeta-Jones' Straight to Video Rom-Com Can't Realize Potential

Looks like a fun way to pass time, like when I was stuck with a 6 hour layover in Denver a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoy Catherine Zeta-Jones. Lighten up, everyone! Not everything has to be "art", and as noted above, NO SUCKER PUNCHES! I'd see it just for that!

Big Hollywood : Redford's Sundance Brand: The Epitome of One Percent Perks

Don't you all understand? See, Industry people are **special** and deserving of the very best life has to offer, because of the ultimate sacrifices they make for their craft. Traveling to film locations all over the world, buying fancy clothes for the latest awards ceremony ... it's really a very *difficult* life!!! We little people will never understand, so we should shut the heck up and continue to pay $12 a ticket to see their movies and not be envious of all the free swag they get. /sarcasm OFF

Big Hollywood : 'Extremely Loud and Dangerously Close' Review: Master Manipulation of 9/11 Trauma

Yeah, I was there on 9/11 (well, across the river in NJ) and I'm still not ready for this. I hate manipulation. Don't toy with my emotions ... put it out there!! Tom Hanks lost me a long time ago ... he's a hypocrite through and through. While the premise is intriguing, and I have relatives with Asperger's, I think I'll wait this one out.

The way I read the story, the Islamic terrorist saw a video on You Tube of two American soldiers raping a Muslim woman. Turns out it was a clip from the movie "Redacted", posted out-of-context. So Mr. Terrorist doesn't know he's seeing a movie. Just my take on it.

Oh, the fun of it all is not the fact that Lily says the word, but the reactions of Cam and Mitchell. I've just started watching this show .. got seasons 1 and 2 for Christmas ... and it's hysterical. Really, I shouldn't eat while watching it because I'm bound to choke on something. No controversy regarding the gay dads. And I'm to the right of Sean Hannity!!

Reminds me so much of an article I read yesterday by Neal Boortz ... the morning guy at Atlanta's WSB 750AM. He says to be successful, you must do three things: 1. Stay in school. 2. Don't get pregnant. 3. When you get out of school, get a job. Any job. Keep working until you find a job that pays better. I highly recommend this article. Here's the link: http://www.boortz.com/weblogs/nealz-nuze/2012/jan...

Big Hollywood : Box Office Predictions: 'Contraband' Avoids 'Noise,' Takes on 'Beast'

I have a 22-year-old daughter and a 19-year-old son, so between the "Beauty" and the "Beast" I've seen this movie at least a hundred times. I can categorically say that neither one has the slightest interest in seeing the 3D version ... nor do their friends. Both are in college, I texted them and asked about it and they both thought I was crazy. I also have a 13-year-old daughter who went through the B&B phase, and she's not interested, either. She feels that Disney is too young for her. (as I wonder where the time went .... ). I adore the film, and was thrilled that it was the first animated movie to be nominated by the AMPAS for "Best Picture".

I agree with Sensei. Mark Wahlberg will be a huge draw, as he appeals to both men and women. Plus, he's pretty versatile (see: The Other Guys). Beauty & The Beast's audience will mostly comprise of grandparents taking their grandchildren, since they probably took their own children years ago and watched the DVD several hundred times. I don't see it as a vehicle for the original kids, who are now in their early 20's. I'm not too familiar with the rest, so I respectfully leave that to the powers of the Sensei.

The great thing about the "Men In Black" movies is that they can be enjoyed by the entire family. Even the scary monsters are pretty funny, and Frank (?) the talking dog was a huge hit in our house. When my 2 older kids were little, they really loved MIB. Now, at 22 and 20, I can almost guarantee they'd see MIB 3. That's quite an accomplishment for Hollywood!

Big Hollywood : Last Night on 'Glee': The People Want Pixie Sticks, and Why Girls Shouldn't Give it Up to Bad Boys

This is important because it's what the kids are watching, and we need to be informed. My younger daughter is in 8th grade, and she doesn't watch "GLEE", but her classmates do. So around the lunch table, talk can easily turn to "OMG, did you see GLEE last night?" This post is an excellent reminder for me to ask her what she and her friends are talking about. Tellingly, my college-age daughter (who was in high school when GLEE premiered) lost interest about six episodes in. It's not even on the college-circuit radar.
